Wow thanks for the tip Jerry. Going to do this to all my screwdrivers and ratchets with the grips. That was one reason I never liked buying tools with comfort grips. 150 dollar snap on ratchet would look like crap after one job.

+jerry bskorner Yeah I did. They look great. Can't believe I never thought of this. I know a guy that coats every inch of his farm equipment with WD-40 to "preserve" it he claims. I'm not sure if it's good for paint/clear coat though. Do you have any experience with using the product Fluid Film on nuts/bolts and as an overall rust inhibitor? Many in the northern states undercoat their vehicles with it.

Cleaning is about the only good thing about WD40 it doesn't really work well as a lubricant oil, brake clean will turn clear plastic lenses foggy.

You are right it isn't a great lube but I use it a lot to displace the moisture then a few days later come and hit what ever you are working with a shot of 3 in 1 oil and you will be good to go, or even my mixture of motor oil and ATF work really well also.

Works great for removing sticker residue also... a lot quicker and easier than goo-gone and doesn't harm the paint.

YOU DUMBASS, WD40 works perfectly fine WITHOUT the fire and there is NO RISK of burning your house down.
