This is an introduction to playing Dice Masters. Talking about the layout of the cards and play area. Teaching the basics about buying characters and fielding.
+ata salırlı Yes you can however you will not be able to establish a full team with just a starter. In our opinion the Dungeons and Dragons starter is probably the best one to play straight out of the box followed by Justice League and then Age of Ultron. There is enough balance for two people to play really well.If you were going to a tournament to play Avengers vs Xmen is probably the one that would give you the best options to build a team however you are still coming up very short on dice. If you know people who play they probably have a lot of Commons, Uncommons and Dice kicking around that they would part with. You can do a lot without any rares or super rares.
Thanks! I just purchased the Age of Ultron Dice Masters set, and the rules
were kind of confusing, BUT, I only have 1 question, the rues stated that
"Sydney could either purchase her remaining captain america die or both of
her black widow dice". But why could she purchase both black widow dice? I
thought you could only get 1 dice at a time. PLZ answer.
+Sukhmeet Dhingra Yes. DC, Marvel, Yugioh and Dungeons and dragons all function the same way. When I shot this video only Marvel. The rules are the same.
Thank you for the comment. There are some new rules that are in the DnD set as there are with each set but the base game has not changed in a major way. Don't forget to watch part 2

Rodney, how do I build my team up ? I'm asking this because all booster
packs only come with 1 dice for each character.i want to get characters
that come with more than 1 dice.
+Levi M-W Yes, I understand, I'm just explaining to you have to get more dice. Either you buy more packs (hoping to get the specific dice you are looking for), or you trade with other players for the dice you want, or you find a retailer who has extras they are selling. Hope that clears it up.
Rodney, does one Dice Masters starter set effectively play 2 players? I was
thinking about getting Marvel Dice Masters for my cousin, but I don't know
if he could play it with his wife with a single starter set.
+David Troutman You can, but you'll be playing a more basic version of the game (with fewer heroes than in a typical full game), but it'll allow them to learn the rules of the game.
Ok question. You've might of answered this but why do some character cards
have 3 dice with them and others like your Wolverine have only 1? What does
the Max on the card mean? Thanks for your help!
question. if you have a basic action card that has no burst like Infiltrate
but you roll one of its dice you bought and it has a level 1 burst or level
2 burst can you still use that dice to play the basic action card ability?
Awesome sure does thank you. I don't mean to be a bother but some of the rules I have issue with I can't find in the rules book or the forums get answered.
+James Dills Sure can, you just ignore the burst symbol. The burst symbols are there to be compatible with other Action cards that do have burst effects as well. Hope that helps.

For those of you who don't know who Vibe is, he's in the Flash TV series
(Cisco). For those who are interested, the other STAR Labs assistant,
Caitlin Snow, is also a DC character, though she's not a hero. . . .
+dinewright Atom and Black Canary both make appearances in the first season. Deathstroke, Solomon Grundy, and Harley Quinn (sort of) all make appearances in season 2 of Arrow, which is in the same universe. Constantine is rumored to make sporadic appearances in Flash/Arrow/Legends of Tomorrow this season, as well.
+Jay Champagne Thanks for info! I'm watching the Flash. Do you know of any other characters from the series who are in the JL set? I've noticed Captain Cold, Firestorm, Green Arrow.
Well, I'd call releasing the more of "the hotness" that Dice Masters is the opposite of stupidity. When it comes to collectible games the more the better, you'll get to see more different deck, combinations and strategies. Some people hate DC and love Marvel or the opposite, now they can choose they favourite universe, or even pick favourite heroes form both! Like I said, the opposite of stupidity.
+Gerald Paul I only ever saw blue beetle on young justice, he was pretty cool on that.
Marvel Dice Masters Tutorial
Rodney Smith of Watch It Played takes us through a gameplay overview of Marvel Dice Masters: Avengers vs. X-Men, the newest cross-brand offering from ...
"Get Dice Masters" I said. "Surely it's not as complicated as Magic the
Gathering", I said. *sighs* Still...the game looks like fun..once I finally
figure it out...
Hahahah, I know, right? Rodney's usually pretty clear, but I can't understand what's going on. I'm sure it's second nature once you get it down. Have you been playing it? I'm considering getting into it because if the D&D and TMNT sets.
so much for a kids game...I cant even follow along on how to play this. I
play MTG and that is easy compared to all this dice rolling and paying for
dice with dice...wtf..
+CycloneMetal After doing their damage, they are put into the used pile, so they will only go into the bag once you have less than 3 dice left in your bag, along with all the others in used pile (after clearing down). Remember, once you first purchase character dice they go into the used pile, so you have to draw them out of the bag that first time before you get to deploy them.
I picked this up to play with my 14 and 11 year old sons. The included instructions are garbage, this tutorial is marginally better (and this is where WizKids sent me). But, one son and I played through a couple times and I think we have it. The best thing is the Play Mat Diagram (centerfold of rule book), which answers the main questions by its artwork and instructions on it. I think its the dice buy mechanics that are most confusing for card game players. You start with just generic minion dice and those are used to purchase better heroes and actions, but they only get cycled in after a while. I can see a depth of strategy in it, and all told I think its a well designed game, but the instructions are incredibly confusing. I write technical documents for IP based phone systems and if any of my work was as horrible as what was in this game I'd be doing something else.
I just picked up this game the other day, it looks really fun and im
excited to learn how to play. I picked up a few expansion packs today and
im curious, can you still play that card with only 1 Dice?. im assuming you
can, but from a Strategy stand point its better to have 2?
I looked up yu gi oh dice masters n found this. The same game but with
super hero's.. Thats cool. I have more questions now then when i started
this video
+greenhattedhero like omar said all dice master set are compatible just terminology is different: 1) Monster = Sidekick = NPC2) Character/Hero (Comics) = Monster (Yu-Gi-Oh!) = Creature (D&D)3) Villain (Marvel) = Villain (DC) [Despite having a different icon]4) Monsters for D&D purposes are different from Monsters for Yu-Gi-Oh! purposes. D&D Monsters are characters with the Monster banner in the upper left corner.having a translator for the different terminology is helpful . The only other problems you may come across is some tournaments only allow a specific "universe" to be used, for example tournament DCx can only use DC dice not marvel/l D'n'D /yu-gi-oh unless stated.D&D Dice Masters does have new mechanics of Equipment, Adventures, Experience but unless you are gonig to play dungeon and dragons dice masters you wont need to worry about it :)
Yes all the different version are compatible. Just be aware that there are keywords to look out for that may complicate things for the better or worse.
When I have the time to play. Fairly simple, quick game that I enjoy playing with my son. I was on an episode of the podcast Dice Tower Showdown discussing the game in detail. Thanks again for the video.

I know this got delayed and now says Sept 2015, but does anyone know a more
specific date? I think a reddit page said 09/16/2015 but was hoping someone
could verify this. Thank you.
+Jukejointjeze0n Yeah. I'm sure they're banking on the whales to buy everything. But for the rest of us, it's just a bit frustrating to not be able to keep up. But hey, that's business.
Im just comparing the collectible aspect. Though I will admit, its getting a bit much, and they should slow it down a little, the rabid desire Ive seen the fans express, they dont want any delay on sets.
Unfortunate choice for the Wonder Girl card. The original cover got a lot
of criticism back in the day (last year) e.g.
//www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=52103
+Gregory Booth Well, how old is Wonder Girl here? I mean, she's obviously not thirteen anymore. We're talking about eighteen or nineteen, right? Maybe seventeen? Like Starfire was back in the Perez/Wolfman Teen Titans, I would guess. The funny thing about this Cassandra version of Wonder Girl is that I remember when she was originally introduced by John Byrne. She was actually a very plain, gangly, awkward girl. I guess this didn't last.
+Steve Gale I agree that there is a lot random kvetching over non-events, but I believe this one may actually have some merit. The primary issue I saw most people referring to is not that a female character was sexualized, but that a teenage character was sexualized.
I think it's safe to say to some degree superheroines are objects of male fantasy, just as the male mannequins in Twilight or One Direction are objects of female fantasy. What of it? Sexual fantasies aren't inherently wrong, it's just popular these days to vilify every impulse a straight white male has as exploitative and backwards, in this case by bandying around terms like"objectification" and "sexualized".This strikes me as particularly odd in the realm of comics, where the wish fulfillment of hyper-violent adolescent power fantasies is awesome (the internet goes wild whenever we get a meme of Deadpool decapitating someone) but the harmless wish fulfillment of what used to be known as "good girl art" is offensive.Yes, Wonder Girl is certainly intended to look sexy striking that pose. Then again, I think the typical male superhero is also a big slice of beefcake. More importantly, in that image I see the very same strength and power that you mentioned being the province of male heroes. I don't see her as being depicted in a way that makes her look inferior or vacuous. I see beauty and badassitude going hand-in-hand.
+Steve Gale Hi Steve. I think often the complaint isn't that the costumes are unrealistic, it's that the male costumes typically accentuate their strength and power, whereas the female costumes typically accentuate their sexuality, perpetuating a problem of the representation of women as sex objects.
By "a lot" do we mean there was that one article and a few days of kvetching on forums before they moved on to some other non-event to complain about? :) Comic fans are constantly are constantly fussing over nonsense like this, pointing out that the outfits worn by female characters aren't "realistic" or "believable". Of course, this is a standard only applied to female characters. The reality check is that superhero costumes almost never make sense and only occasionally have a practical function. Superheroes wear costumes to make the character more colorful and distinctive than the more realistic and believable than the bulky, protective gear worn by a SWAT team.
