I have a 2003 Polaris Trailblazer which we have had since then, it sat for about a year and now I have been wantig to ride it. Well I tried turning it on but it wont start, I checked for spark but no spark. I bought the CDI unit on ebay and now I have spark but can barley see it. I have cleaned the carberator but not like you did just a simple cleaning. Yesterday I took the head off and the cylinder looks good, I didnt take it all apart so not too sure how the piston is. Should I replace piston?

Ok. I have a 2003 Trailblazer 250 long story short it had no compression it needed a new piston and rings i did all of that and gaskets on the engine, I put it all back together BUT still wont run It will hit if i spray ether into it but will not run I cleaned the carb just like you did but still nothing I only have the header not the rest of the exhaust nor do i have the clutch on it do you have any segestions?

Great videos i have a question maybe you can help me out im not really good working on 4 wheelers but i have a 198? polaris trailboss 250 2x4 everytime i go start it i have to put a little fuel in the carb just to start it now if i shit it right off and try to start it agian i have to do the same thing over and over agian what would cause this if you can help that will be really great!

@almazan0637 sounds like you bought a faulty cdi box if it's still not gettin a good spark get a good polaris made one not some shit some dickhead on ebay's sellin buyin somethin like that off ebay ya never know what the fuck you're gettin sure ya might pay a little more at a dealer but goin that route you know exactly what you're gettin

I have a 89 yamagata moto-4 250cc.. It's having the same problems as yours did. I'm wondering if it would run if I just bought new piston rings? I don't have enough money to completely rebuild. And prolly won't until I get a job. So if you know anything I could do to fix it cheap. Then please dont hesitate to help:p thanks:)

Ok, I have a 2005 Trailblazer 250. It doesn't need a new top end yet, but I have no doubt that it eventually will need one. If me and a few buddies want to do it ourselves, is there anything besides a wiseco top end kit that I would need? Is it something a few pretty handy people can do with not too much trouble?

@cpbowler4 If the cylinder is not damaged then the project is not that bad. Damage to the cylinder means more work. You will need a piston/rings and a new gasket. Watch my video again and maybe do some more research, but it's not that big of a project. Be sure to break the piston in properly after installing it.

@BigjermsGarage hey do you remember how much you are suppose to torque the cylinder head bolts, because im about to rebuild my trail boss and they have identical engines ohh and do you think you could tell me high and low compression for a 250cc 2stroke thanks dude!!!

@wueagle05 @ 3:35 in the video you can see the rings being shifted to fit tight on the piston as the cylinder is installed. The rings pinched together around pins inside the grooves on the piston. The rings pinch together on the carburetor side of the cylinder.

@avengingknight I turned the sound off during parts of it because my cousin and I were talking about other stuff. I turned the sound back on when I needed to explain or talk about something. Nothing is wrong with the sound, I just had it turned off.

@turneynicholas $50 seems ok. I would buy it and go straight to ebay. You can probably get a good engine for $200-300. I actually had two Trail Boss engines a couple years ago that I sold for about $250 each on Ebay.

Did you clean piston debris in case also assembly lube how about ring end gap. That cyclinder needs to be bored atleast 10 over. But just my advice. Oh Yah I'm a Polaris mechanic though.

@trent cooper no, the jug was not damaged believe it or not. We cleaned it up and installed the new parts. Its been running grwat for the last couple years.

I didn't see you fill the lower end passage with oil, or put oil on the piston and rings, or torque the lower end to specs. cool videos though, subd.

@Vulcan245 The actual jug was not damaged, it just had piston residue stuck to it. We honed it some, but it did not need much.
