I was wondering if the song that you had played was an original, or if it
has been published as music.... If it is published, could you tell me where
to get ahold of it? :) Thanks!

That wasn't a lesson at all...
In all honesty, it was a complete waste of time.
You explained nothing, talked about your personal philosophy for 85% of
video and then spent the remaining 15% just crushing it on the keys - which
as a BEGINNER, is also, useless.
You're a bad teacher.
With that attitude, you shouldn't continue your "learning". Respect your fellow musician, or stop the video and find something that suits your needs, or learn patience/manner. Maybe piano is not right for you, learn drumming and annoy your neighbors...
My classical piano lesson were just as you described. I NEVER felt free.
I never felt a freedom to enjoy it. My piano teacher didn't teach me in a
way that allowed me to feel the type of freedom you can hear jazz musicians
enjoying. I'm hoping that I can use your jazz lessons as a therapy, a way
to enjoy playing again, and playing for MYSELF, playing music that I WANT
TO PLAY that makes me happy. Right now I'm afraid of my piano and have
been looking for help to get back into it.
This is by far the best jazz piano tutorial on youtube and internet as
well. I'm a piano tutorial hunter, this guy is hidden. It should be the
first "jazz lessons" result. He is unique, his lessons are simple to do but
within resides extremely complexity. This is absolutely the best place to
start learning jazz piano by far. I would love to find this tutorial at my
beginnings. If you are a beginner, forget what you know, and listen to this
guy. This is definitively the way you was looking for. Simply amazing.
+Sérgio Tricarico Hey, This is likeable video, especially the ideas about learning how to play piano quickly. Something I also found helpfull information for how to play piano by ear gospel was Moorack Perfect Piano Miracle - if anyone wants to know more search on google by the phrase "how to play jazz piano for dummies".
Wow thank you Sergio, thanks so much for the comment

+Michael Jackson Thanks Mike. We thought about including some moonwalking Zombies, but the management didn't get it.:)What else would you like to see from Making Music?
+Making Music magazine Thanks MMm. Continuing on the piano blues/jazz series, I would say some typical chord progressions (2-5-1), various basic licks etc. One thing I found very helpful was that you explained these in C, which we (viewers) can always transpose it ourselves to the key that we would like.Looking forward to seeing more videos on your channel.
Very modal sound when you play like that... Minor dominant sounds a bit
like a sort of a modal jazz thing, but in that case I would avoid the blues
scale. Sounds like a fusion between a blues and Take 5 in 4/4 hahahaha.
I'm not hating, btw, just stating my opinion.
+Peaceful Warriors play very slow at first, like 60bpm or less, so you can keep rythm. don't push yourself, take your time. there are alot of slow background tracks on youtube which you can use like a metronome while playing. steadily increase tempo when you get the groove.
Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else is searching for quickest way to learn how to play piano try Wiltapar Easy Pianist Secrets (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my friend got amazing results with it.
+Karim Messaoudi Hello, really i love your post that is very effective to learn blues piano made easy. But i also found a helpful post about blues piano made easy which is moorack piano player miracle . if you have any need you can get it from google search .

I haven't played Piano in over 10 years! Just ordered a Yamaha P115 for
Christmas and can't wait to check more of these videos out when it arrives.
Very cool primer, and well explained.
+Elliott Johnson Lots of different scenarios where you could do that. I was playing more vertically and think about resolving into chord tones in this one.
Does anybody know any decent keyboard that (somewhat) faithfully replicates
the sound of a real piano? All I have this sh***y old Yamaha Keyboard in
which the piano setting sounds terrible.
+nicknearthebay Nick lots of articles on my site about scales. Please do a search on the site. Thanks.

Nice one Bill! This video is exactly what I was looking for: very clear and
concise. Also, I very much dig your accent and tea drinking habits!

Why cant this just be as easy as sight reading.. aaaarrrggghh... There are
sooo many notes I can hardly keep up. And I very well understand the need
to study the details... but I just find myself falling asleep or losing
concentration every single time I start getting any help with it. Gee...
Awesome tutorial though man. So question, jazz Runs, fills, tricks.. how
does one deliver?...
You can use the blues scale for the 6th scale degree of the key that you are playing in and or the pentatonic scale for the key you are playing in or the sixth o the scale as well. For example if your are in the key of F (like this chord progression) you can use F pentatonic g minor pentatonic or g blues also if you know how to modulate keys, that also gives you more range. Its very open you just have to find your sound. However you will never hit a wrong note using g blues scale in this progression.
ohh for sure, yeah i have a lot of fire spinning, flow props and music videos i need to upload. I just don't have a lot of time right now because I admin a page on Facebook and it takes up a lot of my time and working. I'll get them up there by the end of this summer haha everyone is requesting
