This video is a bit dated now, as the desktop I used was already a few years old. So take this advice with a grain of salt. There are much better tutorials out there.
Currently the best GPU(Graphics Card) is the ATi HD 5970. This is my
opinion, and some may oppose. Most people would agree with me, but some
would opt out for a nVidia card. The best processor out there right now is
Intel's core i7 Extreme, 6 core processor @ 3.6gHz (I believe) which is the
first 6 core processor for a desktop. For downloading, it all matters on
your internet connection, simple as that. You'd want a 1GB/s connection
(fibre optic) but it would be expensive. Msg me for more info.
1) forgot motherboard standoffs 2) forgot I/O shield 3) to properly ground,
power supply should be plugged into wall, touching case doesnt always
ground, some are painted. Touch the screws holding the power supply to the
case 4)application of thermal paste was done incorectly, a thin layer
aplied with stiff card, it is not messy, if its messy, too much was applied
I applaud your effort, but clarifying and ensuring what you are "teaching"
is correct is paramount. it may result in damage
@BringerXofXTruth well my computer information is this : Intell(R)
Pentium(R) 4CPU 3.00GHz 2.99 GHZ 1.99 GB of ram i need a second fan because
i got on my pc counter stricke 1.8 and it worked perfectly for 1-2 months
then when i started it the comp started restarting and giving blue screen
so i delited it now its ok but i thing that happend because the system
reacht the highest temp so it restarts. and i want to have 2 because with
only one it makes a lot lot of noice
where do put the paste?. i have a vary old computer, a dell 2400 model (i
think they stopped production for them around the time i got it 2000-2002 i
think) ive bin using the same computer for 10 years, runs like a champ, ive
bin thinking about building my own comp and its seems pretty basic for me,
just where, howhowmuch paste do i put for the cpu is wats getting to me, im
still n00b to this considering i only owned one computer in my life time,
im bored so ima just post the specs about my computer: dell 2400 intel
pentium 4 2.66 GHz version 2002 (sp3) windows xp home edition (broadcom
440x 10/100 intergrated controller) ACPI uniprocessor single core NTFS 80G
hard drive (74.47G) CD/DVD combo (re-writable) i know all this by heart, i
know i don't really need to remember this, but what the hay, if im going to
be using for along time might as well know what your using right?.
Still very relevant. I'm upgrading a 9 year old computer. I'd like to put a
120mb SS drive in SATA 1, 1TB in SATA 2, DVD in SATA 3. In the BIOS I have
to let The DVD run first in order to load Windows 8 disc to the 120mb SS
drive right? Will Windows 8 automatically assign the disc partitions (C:
120mb SS drive,, D: 1TB drive, E:DVD)? My experience is only with IDE
drives but I assume its the same only faster with SATA.
Okay once you connected all the wires and stuff when you turn on your
computer what do you have to do next ? Do you have to install like Windows
7 or XP or something do you have to install a hard drive program and etc. ?
And if you do have to install stuff can you tell me exactly what I should
be expecting ? I want to get a Bar bone kit and so this video gave me more
confidence to buy it.
@japanator96 You want to put enough paste to create a solid blanket, you
want it to be smooth and not choppy at all. The purpose of it is to make
sure every inch of the CPU touchs the cooling copper tubes. If you are
looking to build a computer you should check out (elitepcbuilding . com) It
covers every step of how to build a computer, with great detail and amazing
pictures.
haha this coming May i will build my own System unit by myself and my
little bro... both of us are training as technicians so it may be easy for
us to build such simple computer.. i have knowledge about the parts of the
pc so it would be easy for us... i'm just 15 yrs old.....^^
@japanator96 on one added note: it doesnt have all the fancy hard ware new
computers have, everything is intergrated (no video card no sound card,
everything shares the memory (512 Mb)(no preff.wiring no heat sink fans
none of that, just one fan cooling down the motherboard)
@MrSweedypie Heatsink for what? The CPU? (I'm still haven't finished t he
vid so I may not have gotten to the part you're referring to). But
generally heatsinks for CPUs aren't universal, there will always be
variations.
@bygmikeee No, the holes are not always in the same place in every case,
but most parts will "generally" mount in most cases. Be sure to make sure
the case is big enough though and that all of your parts are compatible.
@tunnelneverends There is a tray inside the case that had its own stand
offs. I have a case just like his. The tray is not touching the other case
door. His motherboard is in the clear.
@Rakesh Sen if u r using android os,download tebmet app and search the
video and download it.if u r using pc, download idm (internet download
Mannager) and download this video
Are the holes in the mother board and computer cases universal? meaning,
that will any mother board work with any case, are the holes for the screws
in the exact same places?
I didnt see you put in the data cables on the hard drive and cd drive? I
just saw the power connectors for both or maybe i missed it? (fast
forwarding)
wow this vid really helped im defenatly gona get my next pc from my local
computer shop 5/5 soz i accedentaly click 1 star rating it was meant to be

well this is the name of my powersupply Silver Power SP-S650 650W PSU, and
it's 650w so fairly powerfull incase i wanna uppgrade my graffic card in a
year or so it can still handle the high end stuff. see when you uppgrade
parts in your comp it can be nice to not just get excatly what's required
to run a graffic card or whatever, but go abit abowe the requirements so
it's open for uppgrades in the future.

I got GeCube Radeon 7000 but it's unable to run sims 3 it says that the
device 0 cannot run this title and ur video card does not support at least
Shader Model 2. Please upgrade ur card... can you help what i need to
consider when buying new card or do i need to buy new one or just upgrade
it? ty in advance:D
This doesn't look so bad, I just bought the sims 3 and it states that I
need a ATI RADEON 9500 series or greater and when looking what mine is it
says a ATI RADEON Xpress 200 series So the game keeps freezing and just not
looking right. I was scared it was going to be a fix I couldn't do myself.
this is first part Bad video card drivers! -----------------------
Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated

Can you give me some examples of power supplies? I'm not very knowledgeable
on computer parts. I know what most stuff is at least related to, but even
if I was looking right at the name of the power supply I wouldn't know what
it was.
I thought video cards came with the drivers they needed. Why the hell
wouldn't they?? Also I herd you need to upgrade the wattage intake thing on
the computer when upgrading to higher end video cards, is this true??
Thanks, I have a dad that does computers and I needed a new video card, he
said he wouldn't do it, that I needed to learn how, I've got him thinking
that I'm studying a giant book he gave me, thanks for the help.
@godofwar6511 that's true but if you buy a new computer and it doesn't play
games or edit videos very well you may want to upgrade stuff like i am
putting more ram and a new graphics card in :D
@gipro1 Yes, they include a CD with the drivers, but sometimes people
"lose" the cd...anyways you can go to the website and download drivers. And
to the second question: Yes, its reccomended.
@samhuang1999 no need to be sad D= i'll buy a new one and make sure its a
gaming laptop not a normal one,i need a real quick laptop cause i work on
lots of things at once.
well first of all, that depends on the powersupply you got from before, but
i would recomend having atleast a 550w supply if your gonna get a high end
card.
@nosensemakingcod4 google the card and just put update after it it should
take you to their website and it takes 2 minutes to install the updated
drivers
try to get a 550w though, just incase you ever wanted to upgrade your
processor
How To Install Computer Memory
TigerDirect is here to help you learn more about the ease of do-it-yourself upgrades. This video features a computer memory upgrade (RAM) in a standard PC.
hey i have 4 slots that i can put the sticks in, and my computers maximum
amount of ram is 16, so i am planning on buying a 4x4 kit, with 4gb sticks.
but everytime i watch one of these videos about ram, everyone says you have
to place it in the right place, or it wont work, how do i know the right
place? (and i am not talking about which way to put it or anyting dumb like
that, i mean which slot i put the sticks in) and does it even matter when i
have 4 slots and 4 sticks? someone please reply:)
@pspmed yes and I said I was wrong with one thing there but the ESD cable
is still one of the very important tools you'll need if you're going to
build a computer, without it you'll have a high chance of shocking your
computer with static electricity, it changes the "electricity" in your body
to the same level as the case which the motherboard is connected to so you
won't gick the component an static electric shock which can wipe out the
entire computer, you needed it before and you need it now.
You do NOT leave it plugged in while doing this. It is not safe, if theres
a problem with the power supply while you are attached to/touching the case
you could get electrocuted by a a surge of power going thru it and into
you. It is now advisable to just unplug it, because the I/O sheild plate
will keep the motherboard grounded to the case. But the best solution now
is to get RAM with heatsinks attached, so you can't damage the RAM by
touching it. Check out my channel for more tips! :)
@pcworld88; If you turn on your computer with no memory modules in it, it
will just beep at you and won't boot up. This is part of the process of
reseating the memory modules; you take them out, clean them, wouldn't hurt
to clean the inside of your computer while you're at it. Turn the computer
on, it will beep and will not boot up, then turn it off, put the modules
back in and turn it back on. You have just reseated your memory modules.
@greatsmither in theory, every mobo after 2004-2006 should recognize the
amount of ram (in your case, 3 gigs). im not sure of that though. if you
are on a 32bit operating system, you shouldnt try to put more that 4 gigs
of RAM in. if all this fails, call the tec support of your current mobo's
company.
@wowseye hey mate I'm talking about the fact that his fingertips are
touching the contacts even if he has a static strap on the oils for his
hands can ruin the contacts if you know anything about IT then you will
know even if you are wearing an anti static strap you don't touch the
contacts on ram
i know this is random but i want to here from people who are masters at
builing their own computer is a i7 intel with a EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti
Superclocked 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express 2.0 Graphics Card - Lifetime Warranty
01G-P3-1563-AR graphics card a realyy good combination for a gaming
computer.
@pspmed no, you still need the ESD cable or you'll risk breaking your
components, it's still like that and will always be like that, and it's not
the motherboard that gets destroyed but the component it self.(unless it's
the motherboard you destroyed ofc..)
Kingston HyperX 2GB DDR2 800MHz Memory - Non-ECC, CL5, Unbuffered DIMM,
240-pin is this compatiable with 2GB, 240-pin DIMM, DDR2 PC2-8500 memory
module ? Can someone tell me this. Please I really need to know I am scared
I might get the wrong one that why.
Wow! Great info! Thought I had to pay someone $100 to install this simple
thing...amazing what others will charge for a simple procedure and take
advantage of your ignorance! Ugh, I HATE that...so thanks YouTube.
creators! YouTube, ROCK!
i want to ask you a question because i had a memory card issue but firstly
i want to ask what will happen if i take my memory card out of its slot
from the computer and turn on my computer? if anybdoy read my comment
please help me
wait so putting on my wool coat and rubbing my cat 200 times exactly and
then installing it wont work? It worked fine for me, so idunno... in fact
it boosted my memory from 8 gigs to 10 gigs! I fully recommend this process.
@chicoman5384 your ram wipes itself every time you turn off your computer.
for example, it only saves things like word ducments that havn't been saved
yet. All your files will be saved on your hard disc.
@Lolismad so u use an esd cable u ground it to your case the case is
connected to you motherboard the motherboar is well connected to everything
else in your computer,. u see where im going with this
help, if I add 3 more DDR PC3200 512MB on a computer, specs: Emachines
H6543 AMD Athlon(tm)64 processor 3700+ 2.21GhZ, 384 MB of Ram phyisical
address extension will it make my computer faster?
You don't really need a grounding bracelet if you are just a standard home
user, maybe if you work in an industrial area. Just remember to toouch the
case and leave it plugged in to ground it.
If I currently ddr2 2x1gb memory at 333mhz and i am getting 2x2gb ddr2
pc2-8500 1066mhz memory, and if there are enough slots would it make my
computer go even faster adding them all together?
If you were only using 2 out of the 4, it would matter if you wanted to
take into effect dual channel memory capabilities, but in your case
populating all 4 slots won't matter.
@excop360 if you have lots of RAM then you don't need virtual memory. it
won't hurt to have some allocated, look up a video if you don't know how to
change the settings.
It will DEFINATELY make it go faster. Lets just say it took your PC 50
seconds to boot up, with 1.5GB more it will boot in around 20-25. So yeah
its like... ALOT faster.
You don't need that bracelet, just take off the power cable and ground the
power by pushing off the power button then there's no chance of getting
shocked.
@greatsmither did you put the ram in the right slots? if you have 4 slots,
you can't just put them in at random. they need to be done in a proper
fashion.
i got a question i just installed more ram in my computer and it says in
windows system properties that i have 1.5 gb usable when i installed 3 gb
ram :(
