People.....BIGGER PICTURE, PLEASE!!!! This is not about what they are called. This is not about what they are supposed to do. This is about children dying. The purpose of this video is to show how easy it is to bypass "safety" devices installed by the manufacturer of the window blind. Tragically I know of 2 children who have DIED of cord accidents in the last 4 years. One just happened 3 days ago. Both families had installed safety kits purchased in stores. Both children were able to bypass the safety devices by pulling them out of the wall or disassembling the device to keep cords out of the way. Both kids were left alone for less than 5 minutes. In one instance, the child was left alone for 2 minutes - just long enough for his mom to answer the door for the neighbor to come in to the house. He strangled in the living room on the window blind cords behind the couch. It takes less than 1 minute for a child to die by cord strangulation once entangled in the cords.
