You know those bits of old recordings at the start of a VHS tape? Here's about thirty tapes worth of that, spanning about a decade of taping from Irish TV.
+Jason Delarosa No, I'm afraid if there is any snippet of Kim Possible in this video, that's literally all I have. I'd know because I searched through all these tapes pretty thoroughly looking for fun stuff to upload before I got rid of them. Looking through the video again though, I'm pretty sure there isn't even a clip here. The only animated bits I can see are a clip from Family Guy at 1:07, and one of some cartoon shoes at 1:34, which I think was from an ad for public transport.
This is all I have for the moment, I'm afraid. Those big TV bucks will have to wait. :D Never taped Kim Possible though, at least not on purpose. I would have considered it too kiddy for my mature sensibilities at the time. :)
Clint Walker on Phil Donahue show 1991
Unfortunately, the first few minutes are missing where Clint makes his entrance. Also, because this was copied from an old VHS tape, the quality is not the best ...
+Titan Entertainment Yes, I was there when Kelly recorded this in Nashville. No offense, but I like the video I did for the song better...there's more Clint in it. :) https://youtu.be/1B4DzSkKprc
I believe that the public may have the mistaken impression from the
salaries earned by the stars of Friends and Seinfeld, that Walker, Drury,
O'Brian, Barry and company made enormous incomes from their respective
series. Anyone who has read James Garner's autobiography knows that the
western stars were paid a fraction of the present earnings at Warner Bros.
and other studios.
+MrImiller07 You are quite right. People also are surprised to learn that Clint Walker and the other stars of that period get no residuals. The only income some of them earn is from their autograph. Currently, Encore Westerns and the Heroes & Icons networks are showing reruns of "Cheyenne" and Warner Brothers is selling DVD's of the series for which Clint Walker does not receive a penny.

TEN YEARS AFTER - Live in Nottingham, UK (Circa 1991) Alvin Lee
What it says on the tin: Ten Years After live. Other than that the only information I have is it was shown late at night back in 1991 on a TV series called Bedrock.
this is from when they reformed for one album and a few shows. By all
accounts they were in fine form, and good to see the original band together
again, before the inevitable differences between Alvin and Leo took hold.
Would be nice to see some pro-shot video of Ten Years Later, as well.
Thanks .Nice to have a video to add to my "About Time" audio boots..
+dadedja56 Well, I never said it was ten years later. I clearly said it was Ten years after, "when they reformed for one album and a few shows" And it would be nice to see proshot clips to ten years later as well. Also I pointed out to Will that they referred to "their new Album". Unless you were replying to wil'ls comment, not mine.. I just found it confusing because NOBODY here implied that they were Ten Years Later.
+will webster Sorry you are quite wrong . That is absolutely them. After reading yoir comment i did indeed do a double take, but this IS them. If you really need confirmation have a ;look at ther biopics on the back cover of "About Time", which Alvin refers to as "their new album" in the intro to song no. 2 "Lets shake it up". People do chanhge their appearance over the years. Leo plays bass the same was as he did since the mid 70's though, if you need confirmation. And after that track Chick removes his jacket. It is definitely him. It's hard to tell, so I may be wrong, but I think they also may have a couple of support players buried in the background, which could have led to the confusion. This was common practice back in the 90's when performing a brand new release, in order to fully capture the multi track layered audio.
Ten years after was the first concert I went to @ the Fillmore, S.F., CA.
Sony Betamax video head replacement
Today I fixed 1 of 2 Sony Betamax units. This one had a bad video head. the other one had a bad drum servo. Watch for that video soon. Enjoy, and keep fixing ...
+חנן נחמני I do have a couple of spares that are repaired, they are NTSC machines. I would consider selling one if the price was right. I know how rare they are these days, so I wouldn't be giving any Betamax units away.
+Nik Neuy The SL2000 is the portable unit, that I did a service video for and is a 2 head machine. You are probably thinking the SL-HF2000 which was a 3 head (good slo mo and freeze frame)Regardless both use the 2 piece drum like in this video, and no specialized tools are required to replace it. They are prealigned, and the drum motor is a nice tight fit to the head disk. If you saw one of the older 3 piece head drums you would know what I mean. Loosen the screws and the disk can move freely around the motor spindle.
+12voltvids The sl2000 has 3 heads on a spinning centerdisc, the drum is stationary like in this video. So, you still have to align them with specialized tools and proper training?
The older SL 5000 series, as well as the 6000, 7000 and 8000 series used a 3 piece drum. The heads were on the center portion disk that spun.A special micrometer and jig was required to replace the head disk on these machines as you had to get the eccentricity correct or the picture would shake violently side to side. The jig initially cost the authorized servicers (you had to be trained by Sony to even be able to buy on) was close to 600.00 for the kit, which included a few different base assemblies for attaching it to the various machines, and set of dihedral adjustment screws. These were wedge shaped screws that were placed down in the head disk and used to align one of the heads so it exactly tracked the factory alignment tape, which was also required. It had the indian head test pattern recorded, but the head switching point was advanced to it occurred during the frame instead of the normal place, which is 6 lines before vertical sync. So they would advance it to 30 or so lines so you could see it in the picture, and there would be a 'Y" split on the vertical lines. Dihedral adjustment was done to minimize the "Y" so it looked closer to an "I" and was a time consuming procedure as the dihedral screw was put down until tension was felt, and then 1/4 turn, and then remove it again for the test as leaving it down in the head would change the balance of the disk. A good Betamax tech could change the head, and do full alignment in an hour. I remember one of my co-workers taking all day and then giving up. Ended up on my bench and I had it done in under an hour.
I think these days it is going to be extremely difficult to find a replacement head for any betamax machines unless you are fortunate enough to find a used machine that has another problem that you can rob one from.
+Betamax FlippyNot a bad idea. I would give away most of these tapes, as I will never use them. They have all been used once. I used to shoot lots of event videos, peoples weddings and other for hire stuff. I would shoot the tape, dump it for editing an dthen put the tape in a box. Many of the camera tapes were reused a few times, but the masted edited tapes I kept so if the client ever came back for another copy I would still have it. Over the years I shot literally hundreds of weddings, and every one of them from 1984 right up to when I quit the business in 2006 is on either a beta, S-VHS, Hi-8 or digital 8 format for the master edited tape. Many of these couples have probably long split. I should just bulk erase them and get rid of them.I have several large boxes full of tapes I need to get rid of.
Really? Where?I have literally hundreds of hi-8 tapes I have no idea what to do with. They all have raw footage of peoples weddings I shot over the past 30 years. Have a huge box, one of these days they will meet Mr Bulk eraser and then go in the garbage. Too bad, there is hundreds of dollars in tapes that are basically worthless now.. I have hundreds of SVHS and Beta tapes that will also suffer the same fate I am afraid.

"Riverdance, the Show" 1995, "Heartland"
Jean Butler, Michael Flately and the Riverdance dancers in the seventh dance of the show. (As far as I know, this 1995 show has never been released on DVD.
The original IS the best! And for those naysayers who say Flatley got too
big for his britches and got kicked out of Riverdance, here is what
happened: Michael and Bill Whelan originally collaborated together on an 8
minute programme to fill the intermission during the Eurovision Song
Contest back in 1994. They thought it might be cool to give traditional
Irish step dance a bit of a facelift and see if they couldn't bring it to a
modern crowd. With Whelen in charge of music and Flatley in charge of
choreography and....pretty much everything else, including finding,
auditioning and rehearsing dancers, they put together the little programme
called Riverdance. Starring Michael, and the lovely Jean Butler, it aired
on British television on 30 April, 1994. When the programme concluded,
there was a split-second of silence before the audience went absolutely
wild, giving the dancers one of the longest standing ovations in Eurovision
history.
Flush with success, Michael and Bill sat down together and decided to turn
that eight-minute programme into a full-length show, and so Riverdance:the
Show debuted at the Pointe Theatre in Dublin, Ireland to a sold-out house.
It is the show that was recorded. The show was extremely well-received,
and so began the tour. Sadly, just a few months into the tour, there began
to be creative friction between Whelan an Flatley. Michael wanted to begin
to add some of his more trademark arm flourishes to the dancing. Bill
disagreed vociferously, maintaining it must be kept "as generic as
possible" so it wouldn't throw audiences off as principal dancers came and
went. He even began a campaign to wrest all creative control from Flatley.
This didn't sit too well with Michael, who'd been responsible for the
lion's share of the work; after all, Riverdance had been his concept to
begin with. He only wanted a bit more creative input. In the end,
however, he decided it would just be better to walk away and start over.
Michael did get the last laugh, though; with the exception of jean, all the
rest of the dancers had been handpicked by him, and they all left with him,
leaving Whelan to start from scratch. These dancers were all with him when
he collaborated with Ronan Hardiman on Lord of the Dance.
lol how did you convert it? I've loved Riverdance as a kid and even saw
them when they came to Boston's Shay theater in like god...2001 I think. I
was a kid. My nana recorded the 1995 show for me and I never stopped
watching it except for years when I thought I'd lost it. I found it about 2
months ago and haven't stopped watching. I dream someday of dancing....like
that...but I'm getting old...It will never happen. (could say I'm too
afraid to try and fail.)
@faithrada I'm not the best judge of character, but I guess that is how he
comes across. I read an interview once where he said that it hurt him
whenever critics would say that about him, but I strongly doubt most people
would admit to having a strong ego. He claimed to be very sensitive.
It has been noted that Michael Flately is "full of himself".... duly noted,
HOWEVER... that does not imho take away from the fact that when he steps
onto that stage he is Electrifying. Personal politics aside...He brings a
certain energy which is hard to match. Dance on Michael!
OMG DUDE!!!!! I freaking love you, I have been searching for this song for
ages!!!! When I was little I adored Riverdance and always loved to watch
Jean and Michael. They are amazing dancers, I wish I could dance like that!
lol haha Jean is a fairy and Michael is just awesome
this is pure amazing,,fantastic. but i have them on video,,, which doesnt
work,,and i cant seem to find the last show which is the "riverdance
international",,, can anyone tell me where to find it?
I'm sure could find it online but if your looking for the Michael Flatley
version they stopped distributing that one years ago. But you can always
borrow it from the library.
