Nike Mercurial Vapor 9 IX Stud Pattern Comparison - AG VS FG VS SG-Pro
Nike Mercurial Vapor IX SG-Pro (Soft Ground Pro) Speed Control Review ...
Josh,
Should I wear AG version on artificial grass when it's raining as well?
Another question. I wore Adidas iTunit F50 with HG studs on artificial
grass because Adidas said it's good for both hard ground and artificial
ground. I had no issue with HG studs on AG for 2 years, but I am wondering
if it is something you would or would not recommend. Just want to know your
opinion. Thanks!
Josh - Have asked a few times...Arizona ground is VERY hard, not FG, no
cleat "digs in", ever. You end up balancing on the cleats above the playing
surface. We find that the AG cleats seem to work best on our best playing
surfaces and the "turf" for on those really hard practice fields. Can you
try and look in to this? We would like to know if you agree?
I would not advise you to do it. I have had like 5 pairs Vapors from 6 to 9
all FG and all of them broke after like a month or so. The only reason i
kept buying them was because they had the best comfort and fit. So now when
Nike finally have released them with AG studs i would definitely recommend
them over the FG version ! :) Hope it helped.
hey josh, I have noticed something quite annoying on my Nike Mercurial
Vapor IX SG-PRO. When i get home from a training session or match and clean
them, everything cleans up well except for the black plastic part on the
sole plate that stays slightly dirty. Does this happen to you and if so,
how do you get the bits of dirt off?
I can't believe this is still coming up. You can afford two different pairs
of stud pattern soccer shoes on a $100 budget... really, you can. They
might not be the newest, freshest, Nike/Adidas/Puma shoes BUT you will save
yourself from potentially getting hurt and that is worth its weight in gold.
Thank you Josh I have been reading your reviews the past week and I really
think they are helpful and I made my decision on the Nike Tiempo Logend IV
thank you for helping me out I appreciate that you take time to answer
peoples questions and that you make so many reviews.
Hey Josh! What's your opinion: i want to buy a pair of Nike Mercurial Vapor
9 FG and I'd like to play with them just on my matches, once a week. The
surface is FG and a little soft(sometimes). What do you think? What will be
the lifetime of my Nike MV9s? Thanks!
I practice on both turf (artificial grass) and natural grass but I'm not
trying to buy both a cleat with ag and fg stud patterns I am going to buy
one cleat and I need to know which pattern would work relatively well for
both firm ground and artificial ground?
i currently play in turf but also firm ground and i love my mv9 but i
dislike the two studs in the back so i go back to my vapor 7 any
suggestions on which shoe should i chose for comfort with more than two
studs in the back or should i get the sg pro ?
If you think he's talking nonsense, he isn't. I tore my acl last April
wearing my blackout aid powers on an ag pitch, stepped across the cf and he
ran into my knee, planted foot had nowhere to go! It's really true that the
ag surface is nasty & sticky
Thanks for the reply...Josh is adamant about the using the "correct"
shoe...out here we have few options. We have a "friendly" today, maybe I
will take some video of the pitch...I mean dirt. We call it "caliche" out
here.
I think it depends on what shoes/boots/cleats it is too. For example CTR360
stud patterns have the conical and blades studs for quicker release of the
ground. I use FG on AG. I think it also depends on how one is playing.
It's the player that makes the touch not the boots. So long as you're
wearing comfortable boots which are the correct size for your feet you'll
have as good a touch in (for instance) adizeros as you would Copas.
Josh, what do I do if my team and I play on AG about 50% of the time and on
FG about 50% of the time? I really don't have the money to drop on two
pairs of boots; I'm only a high school student.
Most shoes with a FG stud pattern will have more than 2 studs in the back,
just choose the boot which has the best fit and comfort for your feet. If
you're a fan of Nike try FG Tiempos.
Hey Josh! What happens if you play on both type of fields? I play on AG for
school and regular grass for a team and for fun, What should i buy or
should i buy both type of cleats?
Go for older models and use ebay so you can afford all 3 patterns if you
can. I've had team-mates wear the wrong studs on the wrong surface and
suffer because of it.
josh i got a question my team plays on turf when we have home games but
most of are away games are on turf and soft ground what kind of stud
pattern would i need
Yo josh do you know how I can get or order a pair of MV9 with the sole
plate and stud pattern of the MV7 I saw some player from La Liga use it and
I'm interested
yes it does iv tried it man and the maestris are tough but the insole wears
down to nothing and my feet hurt every time i play on turf or artificial
grass
