Christopher Tin's "Baba Yetu", from the album "Calling All Dawns" - used as a featured segment in the Dubai Fountain, the world's largest water feature. To learn ...
Me even personally.. I avoid learning what the words mean despite me loving
this song so much. The reason being that for me this song is all about the
wonder.. The wonder and the possibilities. It speaks to me of what us as
humans are and what we're capable of, and how there is so much we don't yet
know for us to discover. And not knowing what I'm hearing, means the song
could mean anything. Getting the raw emotion of the music with that added
sense of wonder, to me puts this song as legend.
Believe Jesus Christ is your savior for your sins. Jesus Christ is God
Almighty in the Flesh. This is the Gospel, believe Jesus Christ shed his
blood and died for all of our sins on the cross, he was buried and he rose
again from the dead three days later from God's Power and you will be
saved, you are a Born Again Christian and you will go to Heaven forever. It
matters not how much you have sinned in the past, present and future. Good
works do not save you, only Jesus blood saves forever.
I watched a rather extravagant light and water show at Disney World this
past December, for it being simply light, music and water? It was the most
amazing thing I'd ever seen. I literally stopped and sat down on the
walkway at closing time to watch it. I'll never go to Dubai in my
life....most likely, but, I would love to see something like this. love
music and lights and water...combine them? you get something awesome.
But do you realize how much technical work went into this as well? Think
about Firework displays, they have to plan the ignitions perfectly, same as
light and water shows, there is a ton of programing that goes into it so
its not just water and lights and music, its computers, technical
difficulties, amps, water pressure, timing, designing. There is so much
underground beauty that no one ever notices.
I normally don't say this much but it would be awesome to sing this in
choir. I mean my school have some really strong vocalist and when me and
another person are by each other we create a lot of sound, for this song
you need strong singers, and a great vocalist for the leading part. But my
school is singing a song called Bonse aba which is also good but not as fun
as this song.
every time i listen to this song i get shivers down my spine. if magic does
exist on earth, its through music. my gosh. such a powerful performance.
the emotion. right now im thinking like a thousand thoughts about this song
at once my brain is going to esplode!!!! :D Its so awesome that its the
lords prayer in african too!!!!!
@austinthebookworm5 Exactly. The power of this piece isn't even IN the
lyrics. I got goosebumps listening to this song before I even knew what the
lyrics meant, and that knowledge changed nothing. I honestly don't care
about the lyrics. Not one bit. It's the MUSIC that's beautiful.
Am I the only one that wept during this? Beautiful moment spent
contemplating life and how many people this probably touched experiencing
this first-hand. The world is a phenomenal place if we learn to open our
eyes a little and learn to let love in.
Well... it's... it's water alright. The music is amazing... but tbh, I
don't get what's so special about some water being splashed around... I
don't even find it particularly beautiful or anything... It's water... with
light..

Man, it's amazing how a song like this can take something as simple as
lights and water and turn it into such a heart-pounding, soul-stirring
experience. Well done Christopher and the choir singing.
To be fair, there is nothing particularly Christianity-centric about The
Lords Prayer, Since its focus is god it really takes the common ground
between Jewish, Christian, and Muslim beliefs.
Your not the only one Hannah Harwerth... It is simply beautiful!! Makes you
just reflect on life. It's the "Our Father" prayer in swahili so is even
more touching for those that understand.
Ich war da, Dubai ist wenn man nicht sonderlich viel Geld in
Einkaufszentren lässt, oder Skydiven geht grade mal nen 24 Stunden
Aufenthalt wert wenn man in Dubai umsteigt...
The lyrics have great beauty as well, and knowing what they meant made me
much happier listening to it.
