The screen code showed "er ff." After unplug refrigeraotr and re plug, it resets and shows the temperature. ( I had never hooked up the icemaker). Although the code on the screen reset to showing the temperature, the freezer is not working properly (frost on the back of the freezer drawer, the food is only semi fronzen. Will the process shown above apply to my refrigerator symtoms? I will be clearing out the refrigerator and defrosting and restart to see if it makes a difference.Suggestions?

You need to determine if the freezer fan is spinning. Open the freezer door and hold down the door switch to make the refrigerator think the door is closed. Wait about 30 seconds and the freezer fan should kick on. If it doesn't then you may need to replace it. If there is a massive ice or frost build up around the fan then you may have a defrost problem that is stopping the fan from turning. Take the same panels off and see if there is an ice build up.

Brand new refrigerator. It was working fine for the last 7 months until this afternoon we noticed that the panel is showing an "FF". We followed the manual which didn't work. So we removed all our food items and unplugged the refrigerator. What should be our next step? Thanks

If there is an ice build up defrost it and see if the fan turns after all the ice is gone. If the fan doesn't turn it has to be replaced. If it does turn then you may have a defrost problem. Let me know and I can help you out.

Besides removing the single screw how did you pop out the rear panel that covers the fan without breaking it? There seems to be tabs but i can't get the thing to pop out like you did. Thanks for the video BTW.

WARNING! Do not buy LG appliances! Complete junk. So many bad reviews too. Our fridge is rusting from the inside out. It is only 4 years old. Still under warranty but the company refuses to rectify. I saw other complaints for the same corrosion issues. Do not buy LG. You have been warned!
