View full recipe at //www.manjulaskitchen.com/2008/07/22/pista-kulfi-pistachios-ice-cream/ Ingredients: 4 cups whole milk 1 slice of white bread 1 teaspoon ...
Dear Manjula, I had an amazing vegan kulfi (I believe it was made using
almonds) at a restaurant and since then I’ve wanted to make kulfi at home.
Would it be possible to substitute the whole milk with high fat coconut
milk, almond milk or another kind of plant based milk? Your recipe looks
delicious and I am hoping to try it out soon! Thank you for an amazing
channel, I really enjoy your videos. :)
Dear Manjula Madam I have been watching ur videos for quite a long time and
have tried many dishes..It comes very good and my family enjoys..i tried
this recipe twice, both the time the taste was awesome..but i did not get
the texture...on the top it was solid but inside it was watery...i dont
know in which part i went wrong ..please help me with ur suggestions...My
hearty wishes for u...
aww man :) you have such an awesome warmth in your personality!! Is this
the desert that is usually served in clay type pots/dishes in india? im
half indian/chinese but moved to nz when i was 2, and remember eating
something like this but more creamy and served in clay small dishes/bowls
when i was very young. I really want to know what it was, its been bugging
me for ages
I absolutely love pistachio kulfi, it reminds me of when I was a kid and my
grandma used to make it for me without the pistachios. It's a bit expensive
for just one kulfi bar at the indian stores around me, so I'm really glad I
found this recipe. Now I can make it for myself yay! Thank you for showing
me how to make one of my childhood favorites.
Hello, Kulfi has a very long storage/shelf life, 1 to 2 months. Trust me,
if you follow Manjula's receipe it won't be in the freezer long
(delicious). I have never used cellophane/plastic wrap. The addition of
bread to thicken the kulfi and making sure that the freezer temperture is
low helps reduce ice crystals, which can form in the freezer.
Dear Manjula, thank you for your time and dedication on uploading these
videos. I have a question regarding this particular recipe. How long would
this last in the refrigerator? and if I don't hace cilophane plastic can I
use any type of plastic to avoid getting water crystals? thank you
Bonjour Manjula, I like so much your channel ! And you are so kind, so calm
- like a mom :) - and so clear in the explanations, it's a real pleasure to
look at you ! Do you think that is possible to flavor kulfi with dry
coconut grated ? Thank you and friendship from France !
I have a recipe but u need complicated stuff. U need dry ice and any flavor
of a smoothie. Note that its DRY ice. Then u put dry ice in a bowl and add
smoothie in the same bowl and start mixing it really fast . Stir for about
two minutes and u get ice cream
Namaste Manjula, I try Kulfi at a Taste of India fest, with nuts and
raisins excellent love it... My question I am vegetarian I dont drink
animal milk... can I use coconut milk instead? I got cardamo not the
seeds... all ready grind.
Dear auntiji Plzzzz tell me the substitute of that plastics that u use to
prevent crystallization, I m in Australia so if anyone knows that it's
available in colse or Woolworth then plz let me know . Thanks in advance.
Hi! I can't wait to try your recipe and I love your video. You remind me of
my Indian mom because she wears the same indian gold bangles on her wrist
and is always cooking. :)!
I think what you're talking about is "Kheer" it's like a rice pudding and
it's creamy, they usually serve it in clay pots in India and Pakistan
during special occasions.
Namaste Chachi! Thank you for this kulfi recipe! I made it for a family,
along with you aloo gobi, chapati and dahl recipes! All were very
delicious! I love you channel!
Hi Manjula Aunty I tried making same kulfi as you did in the receipe and it
turned exactly same as you showed. Thank you so much it was deliciously
yummy. xxVinetaxx
I made kulfi as per your instructions but my kulfi was full of ice crystals
and really hard. Unlike when i make it without bread and cornflour. Please
help.
I never knew the kulfi is so easy to make at home for which I was spending
lots of money .. thank you so much mam.. Your presentation is more
delicious. :)
Aunty you are awesome. You changed my life. I did not even know to boil
water for tea..but I think now I am doing pretty good in kitchen. Kisses

Kulfi is an all time favorite Indian dessert — especially in summer! It's a little like ice cream but Kulfi has it's own unique flavor. Try this super simple recipe.
@princess4life27 AND @ shahjahaAn - if you know your history you will know
that the terms India and Pakistan as well as the arbitrary line drawn
between the two was done by the British. Prior to this point, the
separation did not exist - it was ONE area - with just the regional and
religious differences which developed over time. To argue about which
country the dishes origionate from is to argue whether light is a wave or
particle - it is both.
I made this last week. I made about 32 Kulfis and it is sooooooo yummy that
me and my husband eat one for dessert every night. Sooo milky and creamy. I
am NEVER EVER going to buy a store ice cream any more. Thank you sooo much
for this recipe. I a busy mom with 2 little girls - so I cannot stand at
the stove to boil the milk and prepare the kulfi the original way. I will
be trying variation by adding mango pulp next time.
Wow, this was THE BEST Ice cream I have EVER had in my life. Thank you for
the posting. The only variation I had to do was the addition of a pinch of
salt and a little less cool whip (1 8oz. tub because thats all I had) and
used 1/2 pint of heavy cream instead of whipping cream (my mistake) i
thought they were one in the same but apparently not. Nonetheless, this
turned out to be THE BEST and Easy. THANK YOU!!
Hi I was so happy and making this kulfi, but I was wondering when I was
shopping I found "cool whip" not "cool whip whipped topping" also when I
was looking for "heavy whipping cream" there was only "heavy cream" and
"whipping cream" so I just got "whipping cream" is that OKAY?¿?¿ Please
reply!¡ :)
@shahjahaAn that shows how ignorant YOU are. Maybe not all of them, but
there certainly are Indian sweet dishes that are dairy, including this one.
Another example is kheer. Judging by your comments, I can conclude that you
are from Pakistan. Do us all a favor, and stop bringing conflict. Thanks.
@rachiti AND @ princess4life27 - well Pakistani ruled over Indian for 1000
years, here the dishes ate by the Mughals came from the Islamic world, and
with the pakistani flavour. Do yourself a favour, pop into a Pakistani
Karahi restaraunt and taste the heavenly food, over the Indian ones.
Hi I watch your kulfimix video and it is so tempting and last weekend I
tried and waiting to taste kulfimix but some reason it taste like vanilla
icecream and I checked all ingredients and none or is with vanilla flavor
so I don't know why taste like i icecream?
@oksana170166 : It depends on the age and the maturity of the child and
also accordingly assign them the tasks. You will still need to be around
and keep an eye on them but it is a good thing to get them involved at a
young age :)
A lot of people add slices of white bread to this - is it a necessary
ingredient. I see you haven't added but was wondering if you have ever
tried it with bread slices and does it make any difference to the texture?
@punjabi0926 : Yes, you can use Mango pulp or any other fruit pulp that you
like. We have never tried it but some of our viewers did mention that they
did ad it worked out really well :) Let us know your feedback.
I absolutely can't wait to introduce this to my Italian family. I love
kulfi and just about all Indian foods. I actually have a coconut curry
chicken marinating in my fridge over night as I type. Thanks ladies.
@jazz123237 : We have never tried it but have got feedback from viewers who
have and said it works well. Take the Double cream, add some sugar and whip
it till it is stiff (like egg whites). Hope that helps :)
Though we have never tried it, but some of our viewers said that they used
our "Homemade Whipped Topping" video recipe and it worked out well. Search
for that video on our website under "Tips" Hope that helps.
@teencooking1 It makes it taste even better. I have made it wid one cup of
mango puree and the result was awesome. I jus luvd it. thank u sheetal and
anuja for sharing ur recepie. luv u guys and ur recepies.
@KHAN1561 : We have a list of ingredients in the beginning of each video.
Also there is a link under each of our videos and if you click on it, it
will take you to the detailed written recipe. Cheers!
Saffron threads are so fine and grinding them with sugar makes the grinding
easier. Also the flavor not the color will not be affected. Infact, it will
spread evenly to the whole amount o of kulfi.
hi may i know is it a must to add cool whip..as in would it work well
without cool whip..what is the main purpose..it is a sub for sugar..please
leme know i need to make it for my guests..thanks..
why there r thousand recipes and ways to prepare simple kulfi which one is
the real authentic recipe/way in one Chanel the lady mix one piece of bread
(bread in kulfi?) please educate me thanks
@myrthemoonbeam Cool Whip is a non-diary whipped cream substitute.
Although we have never tried it, if Cool Whip is not available in your
country, you can try using real whipped cream.
Made this kulfi and it turned out sooooooo good. Just loved it so much. If
I were to make mango kulfi, how would I make it or what should substitute
it with. Please please let me know...
Hi thanks for this recipe,i am in the uk but i would like to know what the
equivalent of cool whip is here, because that looked like ice cream but am
not sure,it will be very helpful
you did not explain what was the stuff in the cane/packet atleast you
should post the recipe can you do that please so that we should know what
really needed to make kulfi thanks
I was wondering if i do pour the same amount of kulfi in the cup as u did
will if be enough to serve 25 because in the measuring cup it looked really
little please answer asap! :)
@shahjahaAn this is an INDIAN dish. Get that through your head. It may be
used in Pakistan as well, but do not say that the dish isn't Indian,
because it most certainly is.
Okay so i tried it and it came out great but i couldnt find popsickle
sticks i went to 3 different stores i live in texas can you please tell me
where you bought them?
wow! thanks for sharing!... iT hot here n m sick of eating readymade kulfi
from the store.....m gonna go home n make it so i can eat it in the morning
:P thanks :)
Hi thanks for this recipe,i am in the uk but i would like to know what the
equivalent of cool whip is here, because that looked like ice cream but am
not sure
@Marmalade06: You can use cream and whip it with a whisk until the cream
thickens and you get a frothy thick consistency. It should not be watery at
all.
Looks like an interesting take on kulfi! Trader Joe's now has their own
spin on Cool Whip so I think that's what I'd be inclined to use.
Super easy creamy Kaju pista kulfi (No cook recipe, without using icecream maker)| Indian Ice cream
Beat the heat with this ultra easy creamy and nutty no cooking and no machine Kaju pista kulfi. This recipe is absolutely a keeper and it takes only 10 mins to ...
Anything un-healthy tests good :) Calories in condensed milk, evaporated
milk as compared to non-fat milk ... huuuum Don't think too much - enjoy
the test. Keep a dozen in the freezer and next day all gone :)
+Pratibha kunder vast You are welcome!! Thank you for taking time and letting me know your feedback. I am so glad you liked it :) keep watching desi tadka.
