A very, very sad day for South African motorsport. Just a slight correction. The championship was not a V8 championship at the time of this accident. Only Willie Hepburn's Opel Rekord had a V8 engine at the time. The rest of the cars were powered by an assortment of four, five and six cylinder turbo engines, and Mazda rotaries.

Great video, but a bad choice of track for an event that was being pushed as a family event. just a thought. even though its a rad track, its not something I would want my kid to hear.
