I know there is a lot of hate for OCZ, some of it justified. That being
said I bought three Vertex 2 120GB SSDs almost exactly 5 years ago (late
February 2010). One was DOA and the RMA was completely painless. Once the
replacement arrived I built my system using the three drives in raid 0 as
my boot drive. 5 years later and they are still my boot drive. Other than
one DOA drive they have run without a single hiccup. They are connected to
a Gigabyte P55-UD5 running a Core I5 750 @ 3.4GHz. Every 6 months or so I
do break the array and boot into linux to do a secure erase and restore
factory fresh performance. They have really been great drives. I will be
retiring them soon as I plan to build a new system this year.
