After watching Kyle talk about the star note, so I checked the bills I have and found one. Never even thought about it. But thanks to Kyle I will. Also that was ridiculous that the postal worker wouldn't wrap your mug but at least you guys were able to glue it back together.

Yeah. I tried explaining it to my friends and the best way to explain what the star means was Kyle's analogy about when you text someone and you mess up on a word you reply with a text with an asterisk(*) next to the word.so thank you Kyle for that analogy because I couldn't have explained t any better.

Can I use Alaska salmon (the big red kind) for this recipe? Also, I have konbu but no konbu dashi. Can I just soak a small piece of konbu for 30 min in water to achieve the same result?

Yes, soak it in the water you add to the rice instead of granulated dashi
