Yeah it is! They had left their train behind...some of these southbound Z151s are really long and heavy...and need that power!

+JacksonAndLansing Railroad The whistle we were told was only for the past Saturday trips, the owner of the whistle was also running 1225.

nice video... crazy how you had the trail to yourself after about 2hrs... I did this race also last year, but got stuck behind slow traffic in the beginning and had a disasterous time.

I thought the same thing. It's only the second time I've ridden in the race and the first time I 'trained' a group almost the entire way (I played caboose). I have found that the start is key: either starting close to the front or getting up front before the gravel.

We knew it would happen - two fire departments have been called for mutual aid at a chemical leak or spill at the Kennecott Eagle Mine on the once pristine Yellow Dog Plains in north Marquette County, MI. At approx 6:03 this morning (Sat., July 7, 2012) the Powell Township Fire Department was dispatched to a "chemical Leak" at the Eagle Mine. Then Powell Township firefighters requested for mutual aid to assist with the recharging of air packs.
