A word on this ebola stuff
Lets take 2 minutes and talk about the current ebola situation. Forum - //www.survivalistboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=52.
And don't start refusing to shake people hands and other crazy stuff. Right
now 2 people out of 360 million people have got it. You have a better
chance of dying in a car wreak by a 1990s blue Chevy Blazer.
It would be far more productive to actually advise on basic preps needed
for any pandemic, such as N95 masks, P100 full face respirators, such as 3m
3700/3800/3900 with 2097 P 100 filters, Tyvec disposable suits with hood
and bootie and nitrile gloves. It would be an exaggeration to buy 10,000
masks, but prudent to buy 5 or 10 or 20 disposable masks or 1 reusable mask
for each person......
The biggest problem right now is that we are heading into flu season. Guess what the infectious stage of Ebola largely looks like? The flu. Hospitals are going to have a really fun time if ebola becomes established once flu season is in full swing
The nurse in Dallas wore incorrect PPE and she touched her face..... Correct PPE and procedures does work. Of course, if you can isolate yourself from the disease, even better. Moreover, the same masks and filters are used in painting, sanding, welding, chemical cleaning etc. having a reusable mask is not a waste of money as the same mask has multiple uses. As a former nuclear power plant worker I have experience with respirators and these are affordable.... Good luck all!
+survivalistboards The nurse who contracted ebola from the man in Dallas is reported to have removed her PPE improperly, which led to her becoming infected. It just goes to show that you can have "all the right equipment", but if you don't know how to use it properly in a safe manner, you'll only end up shooting yourself in the foot.
My idea of prepping is having a self-sufficient farm with chickens, fruit trees, and a garden. As well as hunting, fishing and trapping.the nurse in Dallas wore full PPE and still caught ebola.
if it gets some noobs into prepping a little fear is a good thing, but
there is always the risk of over prepping, god knows i done that a few
times, now i have to eat old canned food once a day or it goes to waste
We've all been there. My dog has eaten some good food and my yard has been seeded with out of date wheat. Then we learn and do better.
