Unboxing & Installation: Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD (Raid0)
In this video, I unbox and install two Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD. These drives will be used in a Raid0 array, which I will set up in my next video! Twitter: ...
I bought a Corsair X64. It was one of the most expensive SSDs at the time.
It literally broke 1 month after the warranty was up (2 years 1 month) so
basically I was told that I have a really expensive paperweight :( I now
have an OCZ agility - it wasn't expensive at all and it has a 3 year
warranty so now if it breaks before 3 years I can get it replaced but if it
breaks after 3 years it won't be a huge loss because it didn't cost too
much :) I would stick to mid range or long warranty ones!
I've yet been able to achieve higher speeds in RAID0 vs just a single SSD.
It is kinda annoying. Also, worth noting that RAID0 on a mac negates the
ability to reliably do a bootcamp partition unless you partition each drive
to have space outside of the array. I just got done with a RAID0 SSD setup
in my MacBook Pro. No speed increases and slightly worse battery
performance, but went from a 60GB in space to 120GB obviously. The
increased space is nice, but could have just kept them separate.
@dev21012 Actually, I have TRIM support, even with the drives in a Raid0.
It says right in the system profiler that TRIM is enabled for both drives.
For proof of this, check out the Raid0 hackintosh tutorial video on my
channel. Also, my cable management is messy, but that's because I was still
working inside the machine. It wasn't the finished product that I shipped.
I don't get what you're talking about with the PCI USB "thing", but
regardless, what would be wrong with that?
@dev21012 Judging by your channel, you only have a dual core computer, in
which you use for minecraft. I'm sure you know a lot about building
computers. Your an idiot and have no idea what your talking about. Your
ugly as fuck. Quit talking shit and come back and comment when you have
something good to say. If you don't like the videos then DON'T WATCH THEM.
Nobody wants to hear your opinion. Dumbass
Your cable management is a joke and you barely know what you are talking
about, you don't put SSD's in RAID. Why? Because you lose TRIM support and
it lowers the lifetime of the SSD's. Also wtf is up with that usb pci
thing? That is ugly as fuck, I don't know who asked for you to build a
computer but they are obviously dumb as hell as well as anyone else who
wants you to build them computer.
hey which os would you say is better? I'm building a quadcore with 8gb
(maybe 12 if thats not over kill) and I wanna use it for video editing,
photoshop, and some gaming....apparently lion is slower than snow leopard
but I'm starting to think its due to the applications lack of support for
multiple core and 64bit....can I get your thoughts on it before I go out
and buy my parts and os.
Milage may vary as they say lol. You seem to have gotten a clunker, plus
SSD's are still pretty new tech and they're still working out the kinks and
stuff. The older drives are more than likely going to be less reliable too.
Personally I just use Intel drives, they cost more, but statistically
they're one of the most reliable brands and you get a 5 year warranty on
them, which is nice.
Usually Sata cables are forwards and backwards compatible. o.O But he is
still stupid as fuck because HE IS PUTTING SSD'S IN RAID!!!! ARGGGGHHHH! If
you dont know why its bad it because you lose TRIM support and it lowers
the life time of the SSD. -_- This guy makes me face palm every minute of
his videos doing something so wrong and saying the wrong thing all the time.
Help Pleaze!! 1 Corsair Gt or Plextor m3 128gb? 2 would i need molex
conectors or somthing to atach 2 120s on the tx 750w power suply that you
have??? 3 do you like your tx 750w and is it possible to have good cable
management? THANKS! nice vid but wish there was betchmarks
I have a Corsair Force Series 120gb 3 ssd installed to my hackintosh
running mountain lion. I did a test on Blackmagic Disk Speed Test and got
the following results: Write: 127mb/s Read: 182mb/s. Do these seem right to
you or slow? Thanks.
For sure, although personally I would wait for larger storage sizes to be
released before investing in one. Right now 60GB-120GB are the standards.
When the 250GB-500GB become standards they'll lower in cost greatly.
Got this ssd but no one of my pc's can find it? when i try to istall
window's on it with disc and computer image (or something like that) my pc
says it can't find any harddrives to install it to? pleas help
I wouldn't cheap out on things like SSD's. You'll appreciate spending the
extra on a good quality drive in the long run. Corsair, Crucial and Intel
make the most reliable ones.
if you want a computer with lots of memory (not RAM) but want a fast
booting time. could you boot the OS from an SSD and have all of the other
data on hard drives?
I just ordered this case, but a lot of reviews say the stock fans are
really bad. I have only one GPU and an i5, so I don't have a very high end
setup, but I bought this case so I'll have better temperatures. Will the
normal fans still make my GPU and CPU hot? Are better fans also neccecary
for me as well? I also heard playing with the front door open helps with
the airflow.
I ordered two ''be quiet!'s" Shadow Wings which cause enough airflow and
not too mutch noise. They were 150 bucks each so not that cheap but I heard
be quiet! is supposed to be one of the better brands for these sort of
things. Better pay some more for high quality! :D Thanks for the advice
though.
This case will make temps hotter for sure. But if you are not overclocking
it won't be a problem. And yes stock fans are 'noisy'. Buy quiet ones. I
made a new video btw check it on my channel aub :)
Gracias
Hola buen dia amigo. Gracias por su comentario. No man. Nada.

Corsair Force Series GT SSDs: Enthusiast-Grade Performance
Force Series GT is the fastest line of solid-state drives that Corsair makes. SSDs are fast, but Force Series GT takes SSD speed to another level. They're a great ...
Thank god mine Force GT didn't fail or die when I purchase at an early
phase, at that time there seems to be loads of issues with SandForce
problems. Fortunately the issues are more or less ironed out and mine
wasn't affected! Phew! :)
fazer RAID 0 dai fica ignorante
