Many thanks for taking the time to post this.
I have a question.
After editing, what about storage? Is it recommended to store completed
videos on another drive, or will this drive also suffice as a storage
device?
This is the latest Marvell controller. OCZ had an exclusive on this
controller with there Vertex 4 but they used there own firmware by Indilinx
(owned by OCZ). This Plextor is pretty much identical by hardware but is
using Marvell based firmware. There will be more manufactures that will
come with the same SSD's, that's a good thing as Plextor is known with make
large profits on there products. Crucial will also come with a new M
product, I think they will skip M5 as a name (Plextor took it)..
Hi Linus, I'm currently looking into ssd's & I need to know what level of
battery life (longevity) is to be expected if I'm to upgrade. What brands
would you recommend & is there a big difference between sata 2 & 3 when it
comes to data transfer speeds when upgrading from a mechanical hdd.
Warranty issues, I'm also weary of the fact of data recovery if the ssd
fails! Would you recommend a refurb? Looking to get a reasonably priced,
good performance & reliability/durability.Thanks.
At this point I really hope they don't make SATA connections any smaller.
They are easy enough to break or have connection issues as it is. Even
mSATA connections can be problematic if they have to rely on cables. If
they go to a connection similar in size to mini-display-port they are
really asking for issues.
Hello Linus. Could u please help me. My computer wont post. every led (cpu,
vga, boot device and ram) lights up in order. i just get a screen that
blink after each 4 seconds. My specs are savbertooth z77 3770k 32gb corsair
vengence 1600mhz evga gtx 680 classified Ax1200 What can be wrong?
What's it called? Mem resistors, or something? I think we'll start to see
them towards the end of 2013, or something, maybe later, maybe earlier. All
I heard was they can get to like 1 TB/cubic cm, and like will eventually
throughout many years will be faster than RAM.
It will be affordable in like 1 year max ... Why you asking, because
scientist discover a way to charge *1 bit* on only 16 atom, it used to be 1
bit on 12 million .. XD, the first HDD of it has been just realeased, its
has 1000 TERABIT, and cost about, 300$ XD
good point my friend, it may be tough but at least something would be
better than nothing and if worst comes to worst and you didn't get to do it
be honest with her and tell her the truth, at least then so would try and
get you for lieing.
this style of sata will change as its bulky so when slimmer laptops are
coming out they will need to change sata smaller connector so it can fit.
Also they will most likely make all drives run on 5v or 12v only instead of
both.
not a bad idea, well i gotta fly so I'll chat with you tomorrow so
more, anyways if you wanna chat don't be shy to just drop a message in my
inbox or on my channel.I'll get back to ya as soon as i can after you
post."brofist"
Linus i have a suggestion, you should do a video on raiding like 10 ssds
with 500+mbs read/write speeds and SHOW HOW AWESOME IT WULD BE! (if there
are any raid card controllers that could handle that awesomeness)
Don't wait for that, your PC will be a elderly. Just buy a SSD and use your
HDD for music and movies and other (less speed demanding) storage. I
seriously doubt if your next PC will by SSD only...
60GB is not at all enough. Generally people will want the OS, all their
programs and some games on the SSD, for me this could take more than 100GB.
For the price you're better with a 128GB.
Thanks. Ive tried it and i still get red leds for cpu vga ram and boot
device lighting up one after another. System still doesnt POST. I am so
confused. Maybe my mobo is faulty? Please help
dang sounds like a crazy one, if push comes to shove do what you can before
class starts and tell her you could not figure out the rest.worked when i
forgot to do my vocab for auto tech
because windows 7's minimum requirement is 16gb for x86 and 20gb for x64.
512mb isn't smaller than a cdr. all kidding aside, good point. 1tb is
excessive for most people
people that store all their crap on an ssd and want huge capacity is pretty
stupid... just get a small 60gig to install an os, and have another hdd for
everything else.
dude i cant even get into bios yet. there isnt an operating system
installed. i know home premium doesnt support 32gb. but thanks for your
input anyway.
It'd make sense to put youre games on a bigger HDD at 10,000 rpm... games
these days could be 15-20gb each, and if you have Steam - you'll have a
list.

plextor makes the best ssd on the planet IMO Intel gets smoke in the ssd
department my next build , i will make my first ssd purchase , i'm just
waiting for the price to drop !!!!!! and Plextor is on top of my list : )
keep up the good work : )

On other video's I see folks take the primary HDD out, and put it in place
of the optical drive, and then install the SSD in place of the HDD. Is
there any chance that it's beneficial to do it one way or the other?
Thanks!
The only reason to pick one over the other is if one of the sata ports is slower than the other! You can compare them in the hardware profiler to check their link speeds.

I'm really sorry to say, that I've tried to watch this for the second time,
but I have given up. As a native English speaker I JUST CANNOT UNDERSTAND
THE English spoken here. I tried so hard. I am serious when I say, can you
add subtitles?
