Just installed Affinity Designer ... would like to know more about short
cuts to .. creating text perspectives such as keeping text vertical on a
curving base line... applying text to spheres in a 3D perspective

Nothing for free, but you could use Photoshop 3D tools. Depending on the what you trying to do you could probably fake it, but then again that more work and requires a bit of know how. Do you have an example of what you are trying to achieve? Maybe a sketch or something?

Had a look seems good but I was wondering is there any simple Truetype 3D morphing apps that could do the same thing maybe some freeware? I feel buying cheetah just for this purpose is a bit of overkill.

+Geoffrey Henshall Hey Geoffrey. Hope you are are enjoying Affinity Designer. Honestly, you be better off using a 3d application to achieve that effect. Affinity 2D application and the only way for you to achieve something like that at this current time would require the skill to drawing in perspective by hand. Sorry, it not at that point just yet. if you are looking for an affordable 3d app to achieve that you might want to consider checking out cheetah 3d. I would create my 3d image export as a png and add all the other graphic embellishments with that. Hope that helps.

I just downloaded the trial version of Affinity Designer. I haven't opened
it yet. I want to learn what I can first. I also just finished watching
"How to text look like metal". I love all the simulations of Chrome. Is
there a way to make an object look like chrome with all the shades of
black, white & gray with a touch of blue?

Just downloaded both Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo Beta after paying
Adobe for years. I am looking at a possible replacement and Googled "How to
create a high pass filter with Affinity"... and here you are! I plan to
spend the weekend picking your YouTube brain before making my decision.

And also how u bring up the in inside ruler in the work space like your
jaguar tutorial i saw it when u move the mouse it moves with it is on the
top and left side pls help me im finding it hard to pull it up pls thanks

Thanks. I never used crazy talk but if you can import vector or JPEG images there should not be any problem with using affinity to create your assets.

I'm an iOS Developer (and I do web development on the side), and I kept
finding that life would be easier if I knew how to do graphic design for
icons, logos, textures, etc. I looked at reviews for programs to use, and
Affinity Design seemed like the best choice for me. I came across your
videos when I was trying to figure out how Affinity Designer worked (one of
your videos came up in the youtube search).
