+DocGenius1 / Videos The differences between these letters signify what comes with the camera bundle. The G7KS is the silver model of the camera, the G7KK is the black model, and the G7HK comes with a longer lens (14-140mm)

+Raymund Morgia a bit late to give my opinion but i have the g7 and tried the 700d, no doubt the g7 is the way to go, even more if you want to make videos, the 4k videos are crazy for the price. i didnt try the sony

What is the difference between a mic-in and headphones. Can I plug in a RODE mic into the G7? Please answer this question and if you have time what are the other one's for like the HDMI and AVOUT? I'm new to this and I also really need to know if i can use a RODE mic. PLZ!!!! Thank You

Thank you! Sorry for all the questions! lol At least now i know who i can ask for advice :) i'll let you know if i buy the camera, I probably will :) soon..... Do you know of any reliable sites where is should buy it from, and possibly even for cheaper? I've seen many on amazon i might just buy it there:)

It's very good for a starter lens. I have found it to be sharper than Nikon and Canon kit lenses and it has great image stabilization. The numbers represent the zoom range. 14mm (for a micro four thirds camera like the G7) is pretty wide and zoomed in to 42mm lets you get much closer to the subject. It's also small and light which is handy for travel.

Last question is the lens it comes with a good one? The 14-42? I don't know much about camera lenses. Whats the difference with the numbers? lol

Yes for sure, if you have the money go for it because the video is always clear and the swivel screen makes it easy to see yourself from in front of the camera.

+Oneesan The Otaku To answer your first question, the mic-in is for recording sound from a microphone while filming and the headphone output would be for listening to the sound as you record or play back footage but the G7 does not have this option.

+Oneesan The Otaku You can definitely use a RODE mic on the G7. The mini HDMI can be used for playing back footage on another screen in high definition and the AV OUT is for the same purpose but in standard definition.
