ActonCO2 - driving five miles less
The Department for Transport's ActonCO2 advert -= part of a cross-governmental campaign to encourage people to reduce their personal carbon emissions.
Ah yes, but the population under the age of 25 is nearer 20%. Immigrants
and their descendents have birth rates 4 times higher than native Brits.
Its a universally recognised demographic (by independent body
MigrationWatch UK) that even if we stop all immigration today (which they
advocate) the native, white British population will be the minority within
50 years and within 30 years if immigration continues at it's current rate.
You don't have to be a BNP supporter to see that's pretty scary!
Regardless of whether you think this advert is correct or not (although at
the very least saying "scientists say ..." is very misleading when there is
still a great deal of debate about it in the scientific community) is
anyone here sick to the back teeth of the number of government funded
adverts on the TV and radio at the moment? Not only are they extremely
patronising and condescending but I wince at the amount of OUR tax money
being spent on them at a time when people are hurting.
Maybe they should use the time to point out some basic fuel consumption
techniques which many people overlook? Perhaps a compilation of co2 figures
on the website would help buyers looking to purchase new cars make informed
decisions taking co2 into account. As for the content of the ad: Why use a
small car which is actually easily identified (dispite the poor attempts to
disguise it) as a fairly clean car when it comes to C02. They should have
used a larger SUV style vehicle instead.
About 560Mton of CO2 are produced yearly in the UK every year. China
INCREASES its emissions by about 600-700Mton a year EVERY year thus
nullifying this 5miles drive less action (if anyone can honestly be
bothered with it) in about 1 or 2 days. Any so called CO2 action is utterly
pointless, even if the UK stopped right now emitting all the CO2 (meaning
death and famine) China would completely nullify such sucidal action in
12x550/650= 10 months. That advert is a waste of money.
We have funded India I believe it is about 9.7 Billion pounds in about 5
years in foreign aid - then it comes to light they have just built a space
shuttle to go "manned" to the moon costing just a little less than what we
funded them! A sopace shuttle puts more emissions into the atmosphere than
all the cars in Britain do in a whole year! So once again our government
are doing a great job of decieving us into thinking that if there was a
problem that we are causing it - lmao
Ooh, the evil humans with their radiators on and electric cookers left
running! Typical Left Wing emotional shit! NuLab swines in Government with
their own vested interests trying to hoodwink the people. They only listen
to what they want to hear, to foist, amongst other things, more heavy
taxes. This is the drugs thing all over again. The corrupt and dictatorial
EU is no different. Paste the following title into the bar: EU POWER-EATERS
ALSO TO DEVOUR YOUR CASH!
Honestly the worst advert I have seen in a long, long time! There are a
number of things wrong with this. Most principally the message Drive 5
miles less. If we could drive 5 miles less many of us probably would give
it a go, but for the majority of us its just not possible, or EXTREMLY
disruptive to our lifestyles. The reason we have to drive is because public
transport is not sufficient in the first place, not to mention the price.
The most stupidest advert in the world. What bloody idiot thought this up.
It is totally impractical to do that, this advert was a waste of money.
What about aircraft tell them to save five miles per week they burn lots
more fuel then any road vehicle. And train fares are far too expensive in
the UK it's cheaper to fly from one place to the next in the UK. Get that
sorted before critisising road transport.
Secondly regarding the same point, why 5 miles? The average driver does 200
350 miles per week, 5 miles is less than 2% of that so its not going to
make much difference at all compared to more realistic solutions. Change
the message! If they really wanted to go down this route they should say
dont drive unless you have to, but even then only a small percentage would
act for obvious reasons.
Left Wing swines in Government with their own vested interests trying to

don't drive, drink! oh wait, the government are taxing booze for every
penny they can, in that case lets all go for a 50 mile cruise in the moors.
on a serious note: more pollution is being made by immigration, the fuel to
bring them here and the central heating for their homes once they get here
(plus what they steal for growing cannabis)
What a load of fucking crap!!! CO2 makes up most of our atmosphere and it
is what we breathe out plus all the trees and plants breathe in carbon
dioxide to give us out oxygen and global warming were so true, we would not
feel so cold nor would we be unable to plant tropical plants in Northern
Europe. What a pack of lies!
CO2 emmisions? Global warming? WHAT A LOAD OF OLD BOLLOCKS!!! Why don't
people wake up instead of being suckered in to believeing SHITE like this!
The UK government are a load of WANKERS! None of the muppets will be
getting my vote this coming general election....oh, I will be
voting.....BNP!
You can't really call someone an idiot for having different views to
you.You know I've subscribed to the newsletter ,have you?It seems funny
your so quick off the mark .if you've subscribed to a newsletter you aren't
sympathetic to, who's the idiot?
@robz2 single actions done by one person will not make a difference, but is
every body does an action, it will make a huge action. eg if everyone in
america planted a tree, 200,000 trees would be planted, which is an awful
lot.
LIES! LIES! LIES! They must think we`re fools! If you go back through
history we`ve had much higher percentages of CO2 and plants and everything
thrived. At the root of this there`s another dodgy agenda!!
i want to know who these scientists are, this is complete shit, co2 does
not increase the temperature. a rise in temperature creates co2.... i agree
with cwcw2007 one jumbo big ass make money scam
@sparklecarl no, they dont. 97% of peer reviewed papers on climate agree
that climate change is happening and is human caused. Either you believe in
science or you dont. Clearly you do not
Such a stupid advert. How are you supposed to drive 5 miles less if you
have to drive 50 miles total to and from work each week. The message should
be dont drive if you don't need to.
simple maths can prove that any action against CO2 is pointless. See on
this video watch?v=L_g1bMmupYU what would really happen in real terms if
everybody was driving 5miles less.
never believed in climate change its just a normall change the earth goes
through just like the yearly seasons, just propaganda by the goverment to
have us pay more taxes
Climate changes on its own there is nothing you can do about it. It is like
telling a caveman not to rub sticks together because it will bring dreadful
storms.
This is a joke! The Government have been caught out by not reducing
congestion because they'd lose on their "fuel tax" take. We drive less
they'll tax more!
just been revealed that the BBC has £8Billion in pensions invested in
'Green' companies involved in the Carbon credit trading system they are
setting up.
People, why you so dumb to beleive all this Government shit? lie about
CO2,is only another way for them to grub money!

@jackiemickie he's actually a conservative, no left-wing. I wonder what
strange sources you are learning from, the majority of scientists is
convinced that there IS global warming (usually in a democracy the opinion
of the majority counts, not that of the minority) and its not hard to
understand the exact mechanism how especially CO2 is responsible for that.
And if you'd spent a second thought about liberty, you'd know that it does
entail doing anything you want regardless the costs for others.
"Carbon offsets are ineffective, based on dubious science and lead people
to believe they are helping when they are not -- the concept and the
practice are a con," said Sophie Nathan for the Camp for Climate Action.
"Real climate action involves taking direct responsibility for personal
emissions levels as well as engaging in political organisation for wider
change."
People complain about the aviation industry but what about cruise ships
which emit 3 times more co2 per passenger km than an airbus Left wing
looneys want to tax holiday makers who travel by plane but dont want to
tackle cruise ships or the effect of shipping transport,
There is no man made global warming. CO2 does not harm anything. To the
commie, gun grabbing hater of freedom and the truth in this video. See if
you push this pro slavery anti freedom bullshit down our throat.
