Buckfast Tonic Wine
Buckfast Tonic Wine, commonly known as Buckfast or Buckie, is a fortified wine licensed from Buckfast Abbey in Devon and distributed by J. Chandler ...
This is what troubles me about democracy, does it take into account that
people, as a rule are fuckwitts?
Anyway, fantasticly cynical opinions much enjoyed thank you.
I was partial to a drop of Eldorado (Rich White) myself when I was a lad.
Now fast forward forty odd years to a wee licensed grocer in Gourock, and I
find myself buying a bottle of El D for old times sake. Jeezus - what the
hell happened? First off, the alcohol level has dropped 3 or 4%, and
secondly, it now tastes absolutely vile! (Imported from South Africa rather
than Cyprus nowadays).
If, as I suspect, this change for the worse in Eldorado quality has to do
with the Scottish Government trying to save the drinking classes from
themselves, then allow me to point out that a litre bottle of Tesco's own
brand cream sherry is not only cheaper than a 75cl bottle of Eldorado, it
is also as strong as the old recipe Eldorado and it's a damn site more
palatable too!
+ロスロビン I didn't discover Eldorado till one of my visits, as a teen ager I was brought up with Lanlic Wine clear, dark was for the ladies, half bottle down your sock on the way to the Palladium
+ロスロビン A little shop on Lyndoch St in Greenock so how managed to get the old stuff, and it was under the counter, I was never a lover of El D nor Buckfast, I was a Lanlic Wine drinker, Clear for the men & Dark mixed with Irn-Bru for the ladies, 80 yrs old and can still taste it. LOL
