Audrey Hepburn and Mel Ferrer arrive at London Airport (1959)
Audrey Hepburn and her husband, Mel Ferrer, smile for the camera on arrival at London Airport, from Zurich. Audrey is in town for the premiere of her film "The ...
Does she refer to that during the interview or did you just think of these
things by coincidence? I read in an interview with her son, that she would
never have anything German in her house after that. I can understand her in
a way. She went through so much. And yet I have never heard her rant about
Germans in public. She was a very classy lady. Shame people today aren't
more like actors and actresses from that time, more like Audrey in
particular...
@xTnT87 the irony of your comment is that she always said she wasn't
terribly smart. Which is my favorite quality of hers....humility. She is
the ultimate woman: humble, confident, smart, courageous, level headed,
successful, kind, empathetic, sympathetic, passionate, nurturing, active,
informed, talented, stylish etc....
@Appallas tu exagères on parle encore comme ça. Bien sûr il y a des
tournures de phrases un peu passé et la journaliste a un ton hautain (très
parisien, je déteste) mais quand même, enfin sinon je ne sais pas comment
TOI tu parles. :p
Oh, is she just the sweetest thing. They're not really talking about much
important, they just said they were stopping off in Paris on the way to
Amsterdam, to do some interviews and stuff, they hope it'll be a bit of a
vacation, etc.
Well, it seems that you think most women are lacking in one or the other.
Do you hear things like "It's rare to find a handsome man who is smart at
the same time"? Would be sexist, would it not be? Same with the comment
like yours.
they speak amazingly well, but this is a really good example of how
intonation gives away native english speakers in french despite perfect
pronunciation. nonetheless, audrey's and mel's intonation helps me
understand them better.
Audrey was a Eurpean noblewoman so she was well educated & obviously
intelligent, as well. I was surprised to read that she turned down a French
film because she was unsure of the language. Perhaps there was no truth to
that.
Well, she went through so much. And I'm not sure I'll ever understand how
she never hold a grudge against her father for being a nazi sympathizer and
abandoning her family. She really was a very gentle soul...
Quelle belle femme. Magnifique. Coter interview je suis d accords la
journaliste est vraiment nulle. Des questions de bas de gamme sans interet,
dommage. Ce qui n empeche en rien d etre une video unique.
@purplelunacy yes yes yes. in order to promote french language, they must
speak the language well. nowadays, it's so saddening how people speak the
language. i just totally agree with you, purplelunacy.
I'm french and I agree, she speaks perfectly. But She as born in Bruxelles,
Belgium ad they speak french too there. So maybe she has been raised by
french speaking people ? I don't know lol
Is it just me, or did Audrey seem to get a little more nervous when she
heard the airplane? I wonder if it's linked to her experience in the war.
That poor, beautiful woman. :(
At home she spoke English with Ferrer and son. Remember her father was
Anglo-Irish and she was schooled after the war in England. Mel Ferrer is
American born.
i could understand some of wht they were saying... i jst started taking
French this year! mayb someday i'll come back to this video and understand
it! : D
Oh j'adore la façon dont on parlais français à l'époque ! I love how people
used to spreak French back then !

War and Peace (1956) Directed by King Vidor Starring the exquisite Audrey Hepburn. Prince Andrei as played by Mel Ferrer was the real life husband of Audrey ...
@aiayumi I understand that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if you
don't think she's pretty, that's fine. But Audrey Hepburn was never, never
obnoxious, she was always a lady- polite, full of grace and charm and had a
genuine, considerate nature. Perhaps in her movies she did not always play
characters as gracious as herself- is that where your perception of her
comes from? In any case, if you don't like her, why watch this video?
@SheFallsUpStairs Exactly. And about her figure, she grew up in Holland
during the Nazi invasion and there was little to no food during one long
point before the area was liberated. And trust me, a lot of things that
happen when you're still young tend to stay with you a looonnnnggg time, be
it physical or mental/emotional. It depends on whether or not you're going
to let it stop you, which she certainly didn't!
I read somewhere that when Jeremy Brett(who plays her brother) first met
her before the shoot, he was quite taken by her :) He said: '' She was
wearing no make up, her skin was of a porcelain doll...i nearly drowned in
the pool with the beauty of her. I was spellbound'' Pity he had to play her
brother! She looks pretty damn good in this scene.
AUDREY HEPBURN’S BEAUTY SECRETS 2 "Remember, if you ever need a helping
hand you’ll find one at the end of your arm. As you grow older, you’ll
discover that you have two hands: one for helping yourself, the second for
helping others. You’ve great days still ahead of you. May there be many of
them."
I read somewhere that the actor Jeremy Brett ( plays her brother here) who
starred with Audrey also in My Fair Lady was in awe of her beauty. He even
said that when he first met her at her home, he almost 'drowned in the
swimming pool with the beauty of her'. Aw.
I always love seeing Audrey playing a bit of a brat.. it makes brats like
me not feel so bad about it. lol.. but I certainly love watching her play a
girl feeling completely out of control of her situation and so insecure
about it. It really shows her range!
"If she loooks back at me and smiles, she will be my wife.." I have been
personally waiting for such a confirmation for the past 3 weeks!! Indeed,
after watching this scene, I realised considerably more patience is needed
for young people today...
hi thanks steve i c we have somethings in common .. yes i seen the nun
story .. great one ..have you seen 1962.."The Children's Hour" my favorte
staring with Shirley Mc Laine it was a remake of "We Three." . str8 version
mel ferrer was her husband at the time; he played prince Andrei Bolkonsky
... she was certainly one of my favorite actresses, and one of my favorite
persons... will there be another one like her? :-)
i love both ..i found the subect of the movie for that time period 1960 was
brave...i'm a male from nj.. love charade thanks btw do you know where i
got my nick? what movie?
I had a look on the net guys this movie is actually - War and Peace ( yup I
have never heard of a version with Audrey Hepburn either) But I think you
can watch it online
i don't understand why ppl think audrey hepburn's pretty...>.> She looks
anorexic and face way too sharp...her personality quite obnoxious, instead
of classy...
Which came first, this movie, or Disney's Cinderella? I wouldn't be
surprised if Disney drew inspiration from this scene and from Audrey
Hepburn as Cinderella!
Megan Fox has nothing on Audrey Hepburn. Class is prerequisite to being
beautiful and Megan clearly lacks that.

A beautiful recording - one of the last - of Roger Wolfe Kahn's Orchestra
with Elmer's fabulous vocal. What a pity, shortly after that Roger Wolfe
Kahn lost interest in the orchestra and took up piloting fighter planes.
