The 'Big W' Trek (west to east) Torres del Paine National Park, Patagonia, Chile
This film covers a three and a half day trek of the 'W' route from west to east in the Torres Del Paine National Park. We caught the catamaran from Pudeto to the ...
Fantastic video. Really well put together too.
It looks like you didn't use a guid service? I am hoping to do the W trek
in March (solo) and wondered if you were glad you didn't use a guide?
+Ben Ward Apologies for late reply. There is no need for a guide as the routes are well signed and good information is available on the park website. Good luck with the trek

Hi, I´m from Brazil and I will make this trek next year. I loved your video
and especially the first song. I cried when I was listening and I want so
much the name of this instrumental!!!
Thank you for your kind comments, Jocelyne. The first soundtrack is called 'Wind' by Brian Crain. Hope you get to hike the 'W'. It's a fabulous part of the world.
Hi Martin. My wife and I just decided to trek your trek (albeit with less
gear on our backs) November 2014. You and Sharon put a lot of work into
that video. And your technique was excellent.
Did you mix your own music? Or compose it? Some of it sounded a little
like Moby. Some sounded like you were sampling from parts of some
classical pieces.
Anyway, enjoyed your trek from the comfort of my living room!
Thanks, Alan, and glad that you enjoyed our video. We don't mix our own music, we just use tracks that we like, in this case, music from Aphix Twin and The Gotan Project are two of those featured.
Fabulous footage - very helpful in visualizing what I'm reading in my
Lonely Planet book. Were the trails well enough marked that you wouldn't
need a guide?
You shouldn't need a guide, Mary, as the trails are well marked. We bought a map of the park which shows all the trails in Cotswolds before we left. It was very useful because it gave the approximate distances and time taken to hike the various sections.
