I've always liked the idea of passing books on to a friend, but most don't
seem to read as much anymore. So I get to amass plenty. Unfortunately, I
tend to read series books, or they are 1,000 page tomes, which people don't
have 'time for'. One series I love is 22 volumes, so it's an investment
really. "Master and Commander" series by Patrick O' Brian. So wonderful.
Late 1700s English Navy saga, but has romance and practical geography, and
real history.
=M=
If you ever do, it has just giant amounts of history, and the customs of the era. I actually wear my hair "Clubbed", as was the fashion of Captains of the 1780s. ( all pulled back to the nape of the neck and tied. Ribbon for special occasions.) A very short ponytail. The movie did a slight Justice to the books, but only included content from maybe 2 books of the series. Read them every other Winter for years.<3=Me.=
Yes! There's something so special about passing on books :) Oh! My sister reads Patrick O'Brian and told me I should read the 'Master and Commander' series :D
Congrats to sarah!
And I don't know if you have read it yet (I haven't) but a lot of friends
recommended 'maze runner' to me, and I feel like you might like that aswell
:D
Aw fantastic Sarah! Yep it does make you teary ;'-)
Tucson Festival of Books || Book Giveaway!
I had such a wonderful time at Tucson Festival of Books - Here's a brief recap and ... I came home with some signed books to giveaway!! ~ MY LINKS ~ My ...
First of all, love that the Minion was on the bed in the back! :-) I think
you did the Festival the right way - every girl needs a weekend to get away
and get creative! Plus, sometimes you have to have the power to do things
your own way when you want to get the full experience of something. I have
not been to the Tucson Festival, but I think I will definitely need to
change that next year! I hate to admit that I am not familiar with The
Giver - but I am definitely going to add it to my reading list. Thanks for
another wonderful video!
+Tina Williams also forgot to mention, love, love, LOVED the bookmark! Totally reminded me of the conversation you had with Patti on your Radio Program about things authors gave away. That looks like it was an amazing thing to sell - I am not a huge bookmark person, but I would buy something like that definitely. It goes with the book and represents the author. Such a great idea! And Minion travel companion...awesome! I have a Hawkeye Mini-mug. He is my constant companion...my own little superhero. lol
Yes! I think was the main thing was I really just wanted to experience it my way! Thanks for totally getting it! And yeah - it took me months to win that minion! Now he goes everywhere with me. He's my travel companion.
