I'd need to watch it again myself before commenting seriously. I saw it first time round and thought it was OK - it was colourful, fun and not too serious. I think I was coming round to McCoy. I could sense that the series was drawing to an end, but hoped younger fans would be attracted to this kind of story. It's not up there with the Letts or Hinchcliffe classics, it's comic-books stuff, but there's an amazing amount of affection for McCoy from people who grew up in this era.

@penninefilms As I recall, I didn't think the story was that bad - it was unashamed comic-book stuff, and quite colourful, and I thought the effects were quite good for the time, though I'd need to watch it again to comment properly.

@zagreus316 Yes old Ken would have been better in a different story to this one and this series is just like the 1979 series no one like it and it needs some new people to take it over.

@penninefilms I met Doddy once, he was really very friendly. He was on TV a lot when I was a kid, with his "Diddy Men", which I know must sound very odd these days.

get the mannaquin mania box set cos it has spearheead from space special edition (with 2 entertain logo) and terror of the autons and your version of spearhead from space has crap picture and sound quality but special edition has properly remastered picture and sound quality so buy mannaqin mania its only £10 when i bought it!!!!!!
