UK Police Federation on enforcing unenforceable smoking laws (01Oct15)
Steve White ,chairman of the Police Federation, comments on the politicians gesture politics, asking for police to catch drivers smoking in cars with children in ...
its not up to the Police to decide what laws to enforce, laws are passed by
Parliament. Mr White should be dismissed for encouraging the Police to
ignore the law.
+C Kersh I'm sure they'll get right onto the smoking thing once they've stopped spending every shift in a tenement trying to work out who is the offender in a domestic violence assault, and in the charge room charging an endless stream of other people hitting each other.
+cucking funt 50 bob fine contested in court, when paid that won't pay for the typist who sits and records everything. Factor in the salaries of the court officer, magistrate, back office clerks, prosecutors, the overheads of running a large building like a court as well as all the time the police would spend preparing the court brief. Enforcing such a fine loses the government money.
+homer blair So you don't believe vegetables are good for you because a doctor says so? Or that perhaps a diet of too much sugar is bad for your health - you don't believe that because you didn't carry out personal scientific research in a lab? You'll note that since the Industrial Revolution we're no longer generalists who do a little bit of everything, and we're now specialists. So someone who is a carpenter knows everything about his field and needs to take the advice of a plumber/lawyer/accountant when he needs something in those fields. So while I'm a specialist in my field, I have done very little study on medicine compared to a specialist in that field, and I take their advice, because they know what they're talking about."a good way to earn more revenue from us." Without the personal profit motive no one would do anything apart from live in poverty as subsistence farmers. No thanks, I'll keep everyone having a profit motive.
+homer blair Ah so you have a grievance against the medical profession because of a misdiagnosis. Diagnosis of one illness or another is not cut and dry, a symptom of one thing is the symptom of another." I can't conclusively prove to you passive smoking is dangerous. " Yes because I'm not a doctor or medical researcher but I believe those people who say it is. As I said I could google something random enforcing my belief but that proves nothing. I'd love the see the nonsense out there that 'disproves' it though. I bet that's way out there.
+homer blair Perhaps you weren't alive the last 45 years to be around to know this already. I'm not going to randomly google something to show you. Get out more, live a little, and pay attention when your doctor tells you not to be near passive smoke.
+NEIL DEGVILLE I don't think political correctness has much to do with it. It's just another easy way for the government to make money from fines... Even if the police are saying they can't actually enforce it.
I get where your coming from but this is not authoritarianism. This is political correctness on steroids. If it was true authoritarianism there wouldn't have been the interview just shown about the lack of police manpower and resources.
BBC News Theresa May condemns police failings
Home Secretary Theresa May has urged the police to "show the public you get it", following a number of high profile scandals involving officers. Addressing the ...
Look mate, when you say metal health stick to policing, we now you want
job's for you wives and children in these areas, but wake up to economics,
as a member of the public I get sick of the fake premeditated police
propaganda, we all know the police have nothing to fare from the IPCC, they
fail to record serious complaints against officers, even when officers
forge signatures they get rid of files and alter the references, come on
police we now you're cart blanch, complete "Teflon" untouchable.
Let me just put the record straight on Police Pensions, yes I know, I
really do, for a start they require at 50, get second jobs, get the
standard pension again at 65 and yet another pension from the ISA's of the
lump sum pension payment at 50 as well as the two thirds rule, not bad for
people who have not been to university or are post graduates are they
having a laugh or taking the P out of the hard working people of England,
and of course the Benevolent fund, that many people don't know about
Makes you laugh this one, life for murder but the police and her government
cronies get off free, the police don't like her, they have tried to bring
her down and refuse to comply with the law concerning the downing street
cycle incident, we see only today, police top brass getting details of OAP
bank accounts and cleaning them out, numerous cases, in Norfolk they just
take the cash, is this a piss take, giving people who commit these type of
crimes special rights and protections.
We have to many police, drunk on power and control, life is not about
living in a police state, there are to many, there are to many people being
convicted for minor matters on the evidence of one police officer, has
anyone looked at the police budget lately and the projections for the
prison budget, they cannot be met not a hope in hell. Ordinary people are
bankrupt, dying of cold again this winter.
Of course they get such a bad deal don't they, a recent FOl disclosed just
how many hold assets of over a million, not bad for a job where you need no
formal qualifications very good many may think, generous sick leave up to
two years in some cases and retire at 50, come on chum's you want more than
the lions share You only pay 11% to your pension and get the 65 state
pension free..
Do we have double standards here, we had a police officer stab his
girlfriend to death here because she no longer wanted to engage with him,
he's out know, are we having double standards, certainly looks like it, you
can't have a legal system where it's life for one and not another, where
both people commit the same crime.
Don't remember any coppers complaining when the miners, steel-workers,
print-workers, dockers and ship builders were getting fucked
over.......'And then they came for me'
Hello, Han's, listen to that one about pensions, it's a full moon calm sea,
up periscope, lets get the job done, Happy Hunting, disengage at 23.59,
take course SSW.
PublicEnquiry I've left a note on you site to come back to me. I reported a
crime to Thames Valley Police where the government forged tapes to conceal
the truth about vCJD.They said "WE PREFER NOT TO BE INVOLVED" Police
interview tapes are analogue and can be forged. Digital tapes cannot be
forged because of electro "hum" technology .No police force will instal
digital recorders . Why Not?

If you cut the corrupt police you'd easily make your 20% cuts with surplus.
The additional effect will be that crime (real crime) will fall as these
bent coppers will be locked up in jail.
