FastWorks Tuning System: Genesis Coupe 2.0t Traction Control
Just some video of traction control options. We all know the factory traction control on the Genesis Coupe leaves a lot to be desired so the FastWorks editor ...
I was talking with my dad. He has a tiburon and heard that the way his car
is designed for the clutch, that there are a bunch of pins that pull out of
the mechanism when the clutch peddle is engaged. So when you let up on the
clutch peddle, the pins enter again allowing the car to get in gear. So
what I'm thinking (just a hypothesis here!) the genesis is designed the
same way, that noise is the engaged pins getting hit my the mechanism, so
you don't hear the noise when the clutch peddle down.
I have the same issue. My dealership says that is just how it is. But I
heard its only on the 2.0T, that if you get any of the sport models you get
the sport clutch and it doesn't have that problem (I dunno, I have a 2.0T).
Also, you probably hear the gears engage when shift? I've heard a heavier
stick can help that problem, or a short throw stick. I've grabbed lower on
the stick and hear less movement in the gears after shifting.
ive read that its normal but it doesnt sound normal. i think its a noise
coming from the flywheel to be more specific but ive noticed if i drive it
poorly and dont rev match well and just drive it like a nub, the noise when
u turn it off is a lot louder and when i drive it perfectly, or well, the
noise is hardly there if at all
My genesis does the same thing. Its a yellow 3.8 track. I've been to the
dealer 3 times and they cant recreate the noise... even though it is
chattering like crazy when I drop it off it takes 30 or more minutes to
start back up. I have a video up of the noise.
@yuge07 Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, even though Hyundai has a TSB
for trans fluid change, they said mine was fine. It only started doing it a
couple weeks ago. Never made the sound until about 5K miles.
But mine did that since the day I bought it. How could the shaft bearing be
going bad with 27 miles on the car when I started driving it? But I'd
believe the shaft would stop spinning with the clutch down.
@1CrookedH IDK but thats how i got mine fixed, the the noise was exactly
like yours. well it doesnt hurt to try right? you might be surprised. btw
dont always trust TSB , use it as a reference.
Bone stock, 2013 genesis coupe 2.0t wastegate rattle. The end is where its most notable. Happens when the car is both warm and cold - it's worse when it's cold.
