Guys -- We're talking about one guy (Ali) who is about three times as smart as the other (Tyson). Ali would have taken one look at Tyson, read him like a book, and figured out exactly what to say, and keep saying, and keep saying, to get so deep under Tyson's skin that he'd be on a psychiatrists couch. By fight time, Tyson would be tied up in so many mental knots that he wouldn't know whether to shit or wind his wrist watch. He'd forget all he ever knew about bxing, and Ali would take him apart.

He hits hard but ali has the best chin the business. Tyson is not a hard puncher. he is a superb accurate solid puncher. Tyson skill is his supreme balance and punching angles. Ali took hard shots from forman, shavers, lyle. massive punchers that hit much much harder than tyson and was never knocked out. only down a few times. Ali was supect to a hard fast left hook which tyson delivered but you have to look at size difference> Ali is taller, heavier, stronger. and faster. never know 4 sure .lol

ali had SPEED, and speed usually neutralizes power. And tyson said to have a lung problem (from tyson documentary), and was thankful his fights didnt last long. Ali NEVER got ko'd and, during his later years, defeates the most powerful punchers during boxings golden age (shavers, foreman, frazier). So you cant tell me that tyson can even come close to beating him.If ali takes tyson to the later rounds,ali wins hands down.He knew how to beat every opponent he faced, and this wont be any diffrent

I really like Tyson and Ali....but i know that Ali would win a fight between them....he just to smart and he always won VS big punchers ...And i really think he would use he good reach and hand speed...Tyson would have a problem just to get close to Ali....i mean you could see that Tyson had problems VS fighters with the same style as Ali...and Ali is 100 times better then any opponet that Tyson have had. And Ali fought in a muich better era then Tyson. Anyway it is 2 of my favourite fighters.

Tyson is nowhere near as powerful as Foreman, Ron Lyle, sonny Liston. Ali's foot speed and hand speed is far superior to Tyson's and this would tell in the fight. A prime Ali would beat Tyson 9 of 10 times. Larry Holmes, who fought both, summed it up for me. quote " If Tyson had been around in the 70s when heavyweight boxing was at its peak with Ken Norton, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Muhammad Ali, you would of never heard of Mike Tyson. I believe that but I guess we will never know before.

I'm a big Tyson Fan, and an Equally big Ali fan. All I can say is Tyson got beat by Buster Douglas. Ali was light years better than Buster. Ali had mucho trouble with Frazier in his first fight, this worries me about Ali's chances with a similar boxer in Tyson. But I say Ali by knockout in a late round. Tyson loses his amazing powers if his opponents aren't scared of him and put up a fight (Mitch Green, a poor "Ali clone" went the distance). So if Ali made it pass Five Rounds, Tyson loses.

Tyson is the only person who I think Ali may have problems with. Overall, Tyson is a better fighter than Liston, Fraizer, and Foreman. Ali did well against stronger opponents, but tyson has more than just incredible strengh. At his peak, he had speed, strengh, and boxing skills in abudence. It would all boil down to whether Tyson could catch Ali in 12 rounds. Ali would have to throw alot of punches to knock out tyson, but I feel tyson would catch him in 12 rounds. You have to land the power first, Liston and Formen can tell you that. Yeah Tyson is faster but not faster than Ali. You don't land on Ali by trying to outspeed him you beat him by punishing him to the body round after round untill you slow him down like Frazier did. Mike didn't have the stamina for that. Also, Tyson has landed his power on less game and quick fighters than Ali and still failed to knock them out. Look at how many times he landed on Tillis. The bums went right out though

This is a tough decision..... Ali has amazing accuracy and his movements were almost flawless and i cant forget to mention his crazy speed! But Tyson has brute force behind his punches unlike Ali. Tyson also has speed and he's very good at dodging punchs and he has great stamina, but Ali is still far more faster than Tyson but not enough force to really do any signifcant damage to Tyson. Honestly I think Tyson would win. Ali is actually my favorite boxer but Tyson has unbelivable power.

and Tyson said he thought Ali would take the punishment because he was hit by harder punchers. Do you really think that guys like James Tillis and Tony Tucker could last with prime Tyson but Ali can't?! Accuracy will matter if Tyson can land enough on Ali but trying to outspeed Ali is the wrong way to fight him, he is faster. That is why Frazier broke him down to the body round after round so that he could slow him down and go for the head. He knocked him down in the 15th round.

The pre-Robin Givens Tyson would fare better than the post Givens Tyson against Ali better. Both the pre and post draft Ali would beat Tyson Handily due to the fact he was a pure boxer and Tyson was a Power boxer. The pre draft Ali would just have to play keep away and Jab Tyson wearing him down. The Post draft Ali would out think Tyson by making Tyson punch himself out by playing the ropes. The Pre draft Ali would beat the PreGivens Tyson by maybe about the 4th or 5th round.

who would win between ali and tyson? that is such a ridiculous question. whoever could seriously ask that knows nothing about boxing. clearly tyson had difficulty with guys who boxed and was a sucker for an uppercut. that was proven long before lennox lewis exploited it. true, he was a lot better with kevin rooney as his trainer but ali took punches from guys like foreman and shavers who hit much harder than tyson. oh, and the competition in ali's era--a thousand times better

True enough, everyone thought Ali would be brutalized by Formen and he ended up knocking him out. But Formen didnt have the accuracy Mike does, but like you said Mike doesnt have the stamina to last with Ali but I think personally that he wouldn't need it, I think that mike would start off by giving Ali a nice power combo and while Ali was winded he would go for the knock out and probably succeed. Even Ali himself said once that he thought Mike would win if they both fought.

Yeah but Tyson isn't as mean as Foreman. Watch Foreman vs Frazier. Foreman utterly demolishes Frazier in two rounds and literally lifts him off the canvas with one punch, I don't know if anyone besides Ali could have survived Foreman at that point. The reason Frazier was a challenge to Ali was because he fought Ali in the right way, something that Tyson would be unable to do because of his low work ethic. if he dosen't get it done in five or six rounds, he slacks.

Every sport moves forward with advances in sports science, training techniques and match strategies. Ali was the greatest fighter of his time; but times have changed. At the peak of his career he was the only heavyweight who was capable of that type of speed. These days even the bigger, slower guys in the weight division are a shit load faster than the bigger guys of the 60's and 70's. I'm a huge Ali fan, but I sitll think Tyson would have the edge.

its pretty easy to see how this would go. tyson was very powerful but he got his best shots in when the opponent would get in close. he would hook the opponents face off. but as we saw from tysons losses if you stay outside he had a lot of trouble and Ali was the master of staying outside and dancing in and out of strikes. 23% chance tyson KOd ali from a quick heavy hook in first 3rds 77% chance Ali wears him down. but it could go either way.

And Ali beat him twice, so that negates your argument. You really need to go watch the second Sonny Liston fight...where Ali KO's him with a freaking left jab. In fact, go watch all his fights...and notice Ali never loaded or swing from the heels up to throw a KO punch. Those bombs he threw were straight rights and lefts. Not hooks or haymakers. not reallyy... they say tyson has more power the Frazier... and Ali had a tough challenge agenst Joe Frazier... Styles do make fights and prime Tyson was not good against taller boxer punchers (Tucker, Tillis)and the ones he fought were no where near Ali's elite level . I think Ali would have been too much for Tyson.. Tillis took LOTS of clean shots from Tyson and didn't get KOed, and Ali is far too fast for Tyson to catch him even half as often as he caught Tillis.

I like Ali too Have a lot of DVD's on him, however I think mike would of broken him. Little Joe Frazier was a hard task for Ali. Ali's best fight was rumble in the jungle beating Forman. That fight broke Ali I feel. Tyson was much faster than ali in both their primes. Even Ali agrees Tyson would kill him.

Most of these are mainstream shit...only Kill Bill one is actually quite hardcore, but even that scene carries rather comic relief in itself, despite quite intensive fighting scene! The rest are just junk for teenagers, who loves watching two female characters with big boobs fighting out, even if it means just basic rolling, pins and choking...For the most part they don't even care for the quality, neither for the intensity of particular fighting scene! Its like that - they see semi naked chick duking it out with another semi naked chick - the fap! LOL And thats it... Wanna see REAL top-10? Go check all those early Hong-Kong production chinese movies from 70s -80s! If THIS impresses you, then i courage you to check out those stuff! Most specifically the likes of Cynthia Rothrock, Karen Sheperd, Yukari Oshima, Kim Maree Penn, Michelle Yeoh (Her eraly stuff!), Sophia Crawford, Angela Mao, Marjean Holden and off course i couldn't miss the one and only - Moon Lee! These are all women with actual skills mind you! Its not your average joe big boob model, that got her ways through sleeping with rich producer, who owns half of the Hollywood! LOL The only modern stars that barely stand out are - Zoe Bell and Katee Sackhoff!
