Warm and Cold December - Urban Cycling, C-Volg 018
It has been a very warm December here in New York. I rode to Coney Island, Brooklyn on a warm day and then laps in Prospect Park on a much colder day.
Another awesome, fun video Ron. Have to agree with Carm here-'ve always
loved the winter skies. Totally different from the other times of the
year-at least here in our part of the country. Winter is also the only time
I would ever consider going to a beach to be honest...
Have a great holiday buddy!
-Gary
+Cosmic Pickle The winter is a great time of the year to go to Coney Island that is for sure...Yeah, the winter sky. Although, with temps tomorrow in the 70's it hardly feels like winter.
Hello Ron I am a new sub to your channel. Great to see your a cyclist. I
was a Touring cyclist,Mountain biker also. I lost my left leg about 16 or
17 years back and that didn't stop me but then around13 years ago I lost
the use of my right leg and that finished me. I tried to go with a trike
but couldn't get past the pain. So I gave it all up. Do you do any Touring
or Mountain biking? I still have a few pieces laying around the house some
where. Yes sir The Donald scares the shit out of me. Why you ask, Americans
on the whole are stupid enough to buy into Donnie's Hitler/Mussolini
rhetoric. If we just kill the Muslims and continue on the road that the
Bush's started us down we can be great again. Our CIA can once again over
throw the governments that have oil. Keep those terrorists under our
control as we have in the past.I can provide many jobs in the service
industries. Hell we need more women at Hunts Point daily. There are plenty
of holes that could also be filled at minimum wage.I'll provide every
worker with Knee pads and Dental dams. Ron Have a Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year. Steve
+Vinyl Therapy & Audio Hi Steve There is a cyclists here in Brooklyn, I have seen him in Prospect Park a few times riding with one like...it's damn impressive. I would like to do some touring some day, but for now just riding around the city to stay in shape and a few all day rides in the summer. I have done very little mountain biking, I do not owe a car so I'm sort of stuck here in the city for most of my riding. I find Trump closer to a Mussolini, rather than a Hitler. But here is an interesting article comparing Trump with another "almost fascist" Henry Ford. //www.salon.com/2015/12/10/no_trump_isnt_the_next_hitler_but_his_real_historical_comparison_is_still_scary Have a happy new year.
Hey Ron, We've had the same in this part of the midwest, very mild, dropped
a bit, now back up later in the week. One thing I always loved about winter
if not much else is the look of the sky. Kind of a hazy, silvery shimmer to
it, so was nice seeing that here. Enjoyed this ride with you here. -Carm
Calling people who vote for Donald Trump 'idiots' is the sort of elitist
snobbery that divides this country a little more each day. We can't have a
difference of opinion anymore without people branding each other 'idiots'
and enemies. It's the sort of attitude this country could use less of.
Conversations. Not name calling.
Tom
I see what you are saying but, at this point in time, I would rather not have a drink with a Trump supporter. As for being a divided country it seems to me that at least for all my 56 years on the planet, the USA has been a divided country, maybe always has been. I really do not care about sports. It is a good bet that a Trump supporter would not like the same music as me, and even a better chance that there would be no common ground with my top 10 novelists. That is assuming of course that someone who would vote for Trump even has the ability to read with comprehension. I see no reason why I should suffer fools gladly, especially if they are supporting a true fascist like Trump who is taking advantage of their xenophobia. If that is an action of "elitist snobbery' on my part, then I'm fine with that. be well - Ron
+mylungpuppy Ron, the action of name-calling people who act a certain way is what I referred to as 'elitist snobbery' - the action, not the person. Actions that are elitist are not descriptors of wealth, but descriptors of feeling 'better than' other folks.Just throwing one's arms up and declaring "the country is divided" solves nothing. The people whose opinions one disagrees with are not the enemy. They are just folks with different opinions. The person who might vote for someone you wouldn't vote for might like the same music as you, or the same sports team as you, or the same novelist as you. There may be a ton of similarities that you miss because your hill-to-die-on is who someone voted for.Problems start getting solved when we can disagree on topics, but at the end of the evening we can toast each other, still wish each other well, and down some pints or other beverage of choice. It has to start somewhere.Cheers! Tom
+High Rant District Yes Tom ...good point about name calling, I think a few years ago I would have agreed with you. But, the reality of the situation is that this county is divided. It is hard for me and most people that I know to understand how working class, middle class people can support an billionaire who completely out of touch with reality. It seems to me that anyone should be able to see that he is just working off the publics fears when he talk of islamic terrorism. His completely bizarre ideas: building a wall on the Mexican boarder that the Mexican government will pay for. Really? LOL. I have been watching a lot of his speeches on youtube the last few weeks, and I have to say that they are all completely idiotic, so I have to conclude that the majority of his supporters are not too high up on the IQ scale. As for myself being a snob, gee, I don't know about that I do not think that I'm a snob, but if you want to have that opinion of me, well then that is your business. I'm certainly not an elitist, I'm just a struggling musician with a part time job trying to make ends meet.
