I saw some of the comments below, and it is crazy to see how some of you talk like he has cancer or think he is going to die after this season. Just to let you know, he is just going to retire, it doesn't mean that he will give up football completely, it only means he will give up professional football, but he will still play it. There are many famous retire footballer games, Pele and Zidane played a lot after their retirement, I am pretty sure that you will still see Ronaldo in those games.

@watcher9999999999999 It aint nonsense man. I suffer from a similar condition and i play football 4 times a week with weight training and matches. I eat totally right, low fat, lots of exercise, complex carbs for energy all day and a good amount of protein and some simple carbs right before a game. I tell you something even with all that preperation your energy levels can be low, you can be sluggish and losing any weight is hard and i'm lucky cause i found out early. Learn before commenting.

I'm in tears. I can not believe it. Where have the years gone? I began to watch this man in the 1988 when I was only 3..He amazed me got me into the sport. I've moved to and from many countries through out my short life but one thing never changed and that was my respect for Ronaldo and his football. It's a shame he didn't get a more special ending. And for all you critics..he is indeed the best to play on a professional pitch.

just came to youtube to pay my respects to the best forward, striker or delantero whatever you know him by. wow, what a fucking sad moment. A great footballer. It showes he played with heart and passion because he cries as he announces his retirement as football means everything to him. I remember watching him as a little kid and than the world cup in 98`. He will defenetly be missed.

Ronaldo is my biggest idol of football in my life since i was 7. This is indeed a shocking and sad news. I hope hes aiming to be a coach sometime in the future, i just wanna see him on the field again, the side on the field will do :'(

Zidane said it himself some time ago, "He is the best" and I agree, Ronaldo has been possibly my favorite Football player of all time. Its quite sad seeing him retire :( but nevertheless the "Fenomenon " will live on.
