You might assume that libertarians would know the difference between unlimited democracy and a representational republic. You would be wrong. This is YouTube. The puppets believe everything they are told.
Its sad that young people feel forced to be liberal/socialist because they
never heard good arguments for conservative ideals. Mainly because modern
conservatives are not conservative when it comes to businesses. I don't
understand how you can want to take power away from big government and not
want to take power away from big corporations. Power is power.

Libertarianism that is so off putting & why it will never muster enough
votes to ever participate in governance.
Last time I checked the United States is a bicameral Constitutional
Republic federalism w/ States rights, for your FYI 49 states have
plebiscite. Voters decide on issues that don't infringe on the US
constitution & this only very rarely on amendments (obviously US Constution
is sacred). Actually the 2party system is reducing direct representation in
popular vote as more States want the 'popular vote metric' in Electoral
College. There should be better ratio-to-rep meaning more congress members
and they should be elected in multi-member districts under the proportional
vote. In fact most democracies in the world use proportioned vote as did
the US in some cities and states till 1940's.

+Bleakfacts Reality is there was LITTLE gov't because human beings were use to living independently and worked to make the stuff like food they grew and lived off of. But we live in the MODERN ERA where there is economic inter-dependence and specialization. Libertarian values are still in play but not the romantic notion you suggest.

Yeah we know how the federal government was supposed to work. What we are saying is the majority has no right to trample on individual rights. Just because a certain point of view is popular does not mean it is right and it certainly doesn't mean it can be forced upon an individual.

+Ian Sean Montgomery Again... bicameral Constitutional REPUBLIC.Look up meaning of 'republic' as opposed to monarchy or totalitarian systems or anarchy (weak governance). Syria, Somalia are examples.The US Constitution is a check on rampant majoritarian actions so is the balance of power (div of gov't). But increased 2 party voting system duopoly gives rise to oligarchical power in the US. This needs to be put in check by minoritarian congress that reflects votes actually obtained by its members.
I guess it depends on your reference point. More democratic than the current status quo? Yes. Democratic as a matter of principle? Of course not. Then we'd be "Majoritarians".
