+Tiir Rumibul No, Ten also had a very deep well of anger. In 'Family of Blood' the punishment he gives to the Family is even called 'The Fury of a Time Lord'. Every Doctor isn't defined by a single characteristic. Sure, Nine had PTSD and a lot of anger issues, but he also danced and laughed and joked and was fantastic. Just as Ten was not done being the soldier (just look at 'Journey's End' where Davros revealed "his soul" and all his companions became soldiers) and still carried the guilt of the Time War. Look at his anger towards the Daleks in 'Daleks in Manhattan'. "Just kill me!" he shouts at them. Just look at him hesitating to kill the general that shot his daughter and deciding otherwise. That was not an act. Just look at 'Waters of Mars'. Eleven too had his moments of anger, here in 'Akhaten', but also, notably, in 'Snowmen' where he literally announced he was done with saving the world, 'Beast Below' his so-called 'Colin Baker-moment' in which he shouts at Amy that "no human has anything to say to me today!". And let's not forget his Colonel Runaway speech. The anger of a good man... They're all different men, but they're all the same. Ten may say a different man goes sauntering off with his life, but who are you in ten years time? A hundred? A thousand? That's why I can't wait for next week's Anniversary Special and see Eleven and Ten meet. Such a shame Eccleston wouldn't be in it. Damnit, he crushed my dreams...
+Roy Mustang No, 9 was the angry Doctor. Btw, "anger" and "fury" and completely synonymous with each other, so I have no idea what you're going on about. I would make a joke about you not seeing the big picture on what anger is, but then I remembered that you were quite literally blinded by Wrath, so there.
You see him as angry? Maybe one as closed minded as you would see it that way. You should understand what he's come from. He's just killed his entire species, he's only just gotten into being around people again, same as 11 after the Ponds death. He spent 1000 years alone after Angels Take Manhattan. Nine was simply a little traumatized, and still had war fresh in his blood. Anger? No, just lingering fury.
+Roy Mustang You forget colonel, the 10th Doctor really hit it home on how his regenerations were completely different people. They're not the same, one person dies and some other stranger goes sauntering away with his life and memories.
In this scene Matt IS speaking as David, and himself, and Chris and Paul and Sylvester and Colin and Peter and Tom and Jon and Patrick and William. Think of all the angst of David and then have Matt's angst piled on top of it. Think of it as this Doctor still reeling from the loss of the Ponds, and in the 'Snowmen' he had given up, and he has one last thing going for him and that's the mystery of Clara. He's got nothing and he's lost everything. David had an excellent quote about the Daleks 'They come back while I lose everything', meaning all the sacrifices were for nothing. This is Matt's Doctor realizing that it'll never end. He's lost all hope. And what I think Stephen Moffat did tremendously well in 'the Name of the Doctor' was re-building the Doctor's hope, and allowing him to love again, while at the same time exposing his worst fears. Clara was there, was always there, and will always be there looking out for him. He's not alone! Because he's got US. The companions. The audience. We look out for him. And we always will.
Maybe you've forgotten who you're talking to. I'm the type to burn first and talk later. And if you want any of my body, you'll have to go through your own pyre to get it. But, just to "make my point," here it is: as good as 10 is, 11 is just as, in every way. Comparing one man to himself is pointless.
You hero types always go on and on, just make your point and fight already. You remind me of another fiery little red-haired upstart I let live once. Hopefully you're right arm will be just as delicious.
You just keep pushing me, boy. 11 is easily as good as 10, if not better. What you fail to understand is, yes 10 was good, but he was also a bit even. I could easily predict what was going to happen, even down to what he'd say. 11 was exactly the opposite, he was wild and unpredictable. And when he was furious, he was FURIOUS. He showed a true shadow that was incredibly powerful. Ten showed the Fury of a Timelord, but 11 stepped it up on almost every occasion: the Pandorica, Flesh and Stone, a Town Called Mercy, Nightmare in Sliver, Demons Run, these are a few examples of when 11 simply out-did 10.
I just hope you remember this: No one could've done this scene better than Matt. No one. Not David, not Christopher (as much as that pains me to say.) Christopher truly brought the fire. Matt wasn't the tragic Doctor, he was the loving Doctor. And if you want to go toe to toe with me, I can only hope your ready for what you face.
Exquisite, you sound more delicious be the second. The Elric runt, however, does not. Lost his magic, did he? Regular humans just don't have that "je ne sais quoi" to them.
Fullmetal runt has gotten his real arm back, at the cost of his alchemy. If you want him, you'll have to go through his brother, newly recovered. Trust me, if you do manage to take me down, I swear I'll drag you into the fires of hell with me.
Hm. How is that bad for me? She's my lieutenant. Of course she'd be a challenge. And don't think I can only use fire to burn. You have no idea what it's full aptitude is. I'd be happy to show you though.
i am i am :P im playing catch up, but id rather do them well than rush them
out :P
