I know, right! It's coming! It started with designing a little station that my 2yo son could play with. Lights, knobs, levers, buttons with beeps, and boops. I currently have a glass corner unit computer desk with back-lit gaming keyboard and mouse. I would love to convert it into a console that incorporates all of the above! Besides, the door to this room is painted like the TARDIS! I'm all nerd, baby.
Oh! I know! You should try to build your take on a Tardis console! I bet tons of people would love to see that! It'd make a nice computer desk, too I bet!
Its an easy one, but I like to challenge myself. People have also brought up the Romana sonic, but its too thin and has no moving parts. I did cram some electronics into a stereo cable connector as a sort of "penlight" sonic.
