Do not follow these instructions. Followed instructions, nothing appears on my PS3, except another comptuer which i have not setup as a media server at all, and it cannot access that other system because its not a media server but it doest find another status is : No Renderers found? with a big red X icon

Had to do a fac reset after downloading then learn that media player will do the same thing as a software without downloading this

I have a bajhillion iso files on a set of external hard drives connected to a PC, and I'd like to be able to play them on my television. For that particular application, would this procedure be necessary, or could a person just connect the PC directly to the television, perhaps via DVI cable?

You need a program that can play ISO files. You still need a similar program like the ones above. But yes...you can attach a DVI/HDMI cable to your tv and watch them like that but that totally defeats the purpose of using a media server.

+YouLookLovelyDarling I'm asking the opposite question: Can't I just connect the PC directly to the TV via the DVI connection on both, and play the iso files direct from the PC without compressing them?

You can use WINZIP or 7ZIP to extract the video files so they are in the correct format. Or Magic ISO. then u can still use this process.

What a horrible tutorial. First off you didn't go in depth step by step to install this with common problems. First you need to know you need public network discovery on in your version of Windows PC. Second you need media server connection turned on in PS3 settings. You must have internet access, be wirelessly connected and if you have any firewall or virus detector like me it disables network discovery so every time I start PS3MS no servers are ever found.. FUCK! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man streamt damit vom PC (wie x mal im Video gezeigt und erwähnt) Videos im z.B. MKV Format, welches die PS3 nicht unterstützt, an die Konsole ;-)

Die ist abgefilmt, aufnehmen kann man sie nur mit Hardware wie der LGP von AverMedia oder einer Elgato capture Card ;-)

Du kannst mit dem media server nur dateien (vom PC) auf die ps3 übertragen aber wenn du ein UA willst solltest ud vielleicht zu einem modder gehen oder so da kenn ich mich nicht aus :/

Ich wollte ein ua hab den Daten gegeben und der hat irgendwas mit dem Medien Server gemacht also da steht Fehler blsbla und ich hab weniger Spiel rechte (kann nicht mehr alles machen ) kann ich das so beheben mit dem Video was er da gemacht hat ? Bitte antworte bin 12 komm nicht weiter

senti io usavo tversity xkè potevo anche linkare i film in streaming direttamente dal web. Con questo si può fare? l'ho scaricato ma non mi sembra proprio e il guiao è che tversity non lo fa + xkè ora è a pagamento questa funziona!!
