the greatest, most moving story ever told...made even more wonderful because we live in a time when we know that it's true. the beauty and majesty of these discoveries and the understanding of their mechanics leaves me speechless, that so many of my primate brothers and sisters are so easily impressed by bronze superstitions, and gasp in awe at talking donkeys and burning bushes.... I dream of a time in human history where our descendants look back at this period and see it as the 'dawn of understanding'. Perhaps one day the term 'athiest' will be used in a purely historical context and a 'non belief' will be the default position of civilisation. Maybe humanity will rejoice in its shared ancestry, and relationship with all living things, and the 'deist nay sayers' will be but an insignificant percentage of our species, consigned to the same scrap heap reserved for the followers of Apollo, L Ron Hubbard and Horus.

Thanks for fixing the vid pete :-) love how it doesn't cut out at the epic bit anymore! I've already watched the series before but i really enjoyed watching it again, thanks for all the hard work. I work for a bunch of online journos, eds and bloggers and every video you make gives me back a little more faith in you guys lol! ;-)

Really gives you perspective. Knowing how insignificant I am makes me feel even more excited than believing some stupid fairy tale. The real story is way more interesting.

When a star is still in the initial stages of being created, the molecular cloud surrounding it begins to rotate. As it rotates, the cloud will begin to condense around areas where there is more matter. These are called ‘protoplanets’. These protoplanets will continue to accumulate matter by gravitational pull, which increases as they grow larger. Dumbass.
