I found out just now that Adam Lambert is the new lead singer of queen..
He's damn good but needs to be a lil more intoxicated :) he just seems to
be a bit ehh..... too embarrassed to go on stage and just go crazy
+Chateaux Margaux I didn't ment you, when I said some "fans" hate, they don't discus or even talk to me. I really do understand your feeling of watching Adam as frontman, I was sceptic also but I saw recordings of the shows, or just a few songs, and YES it's Freddie;s place to stand there and sing the songs we all know so well. Freddie will be the Frontman of Queen FOREVER, let that be clear. I see Adam as singing the songs and standing in front of the band, that he does well and with dignaty and respect to Freddie. I hope you understand what Im saying, Queen were rour man, and one was holding a stick in his hand, that was the Frontman of Queen, and it sadley ended on November 24, 1991 :( Today we have Queen + Adam Lambert, and Adam is in the front and is the leadsinger. I didn't want to offend you Chateaux, that's not me, and I'm very sorry you felt that way, my apolagies for hurting you, but I was not talking about you. xxx
+Chateaux Margaux You are right, no cape or whatever, but such a power, like a hurricane it was really amazing, just as the litlle dance with the cameraman, even the other guy's smiled, when Freddie did. Alway to do the unexpected and what came into his mind. At Live Aid Freddie was the Macho man, and I still see myself dancing to the room, with my first born son, just a few months old, and still have the video tape of Live Aid, I love it. Thanks for all your comments, we don't have to agree on everything, that would be so boring, but we share the love for Freddie and that's the most importand part for me. Love Geke xxx
+Geke Hop-Wassink Understood. Hmmm, I am from the Queen generation too. I'm partial to the original band, of course. I have no hate towards Lambert at all. It is NOT hate, it is just a willful disbelief of him taking the Lead, as to were. Me don't like. :)
Hi +PinkLeyla I'm not a Sir I'm a women, but that's okay. I wanted to react on your comment. I try to react as much as possible, to the comments on my posts. Thank you for your compliment for explaining, and I don't know all and don't have all the answers, but I do the best I can, in a honest way. I'm 51 years old, so I'm of the Queen generation, and yes, there are fans that are angry about this tour, well that is their opinion, but I really think and believe Freddie love the tour they are doing now with Adam. If you read the book Freddie Mercury, In his own words, you will learn a lot about Freddie. The book is made out of all the intervieuws Freddie gave, on screen or where they found it, and it is devided in different parts, and Freddie's answers on that subject. The book (I have more) but is very special to me, because the friend who send it to me, is someone who really knew Freddie and spend a lot of time with him, so a real special gift. Also it learned me a few lessons, and from that I can honestly say, from my heart, Freddie love what Brian, Roger, Spike and the others do, and why they chose Adam. Freddie would like Adam, and most of all Freddie would be very upset about the hate from certain people, who say they are fans. Hate is something Freddie would highley disaprove, that I'm certain of. Maybe you can get the book with a libery or mabe buy it, there is so much in it. Adam does Not try to copy Freddie, but sing the songs his own way, as it should be,he mention Freddie ceveral times and I believe he really is a fan, and he brings the music to a new generation, but they will always find out, wich 4 created that magic. Thank you for your comment, and I hope my spelling was correct, English is not my first language, and if you want to know something, ask, and I will try to answer. Love Geke xxx
+81giorikas However, when Freddie held the crowd in the palms of his hands at Live Aid (stealing the show) you could not have found a more Macho Man. he he No flamboyant cape during that 20 minute masterpiece with the audience. No need for it. WOW!
+Margo Farrar I will read it tomorrow, and I do respect your opinion, I give my reaction like I always try to do. GoodNight and Peace, and even send you a Cyber hug xxx
+Geke Hop-Wassink Yes, I know all about what you have posted. :) Understood. STILL, I do not approve of this traveling tour. All power to them but I pass. The End.
+Margo Farrar I RESPECT everyone's opinion, let that be clear, but there is something I like to say about it. For me also died Queen together with Freddie and there is nobody who can take Freddie or John's place, they were both unique, one of a kind!!! I got for my birtday the book Freddie Mercury, His life in his own words, and don't know if you have read the book? Freddie hated it when they called him The Leader of the band, Queen was 25% Brian, 25% John, 25% Freddie and 25% Roger, he was just the leadsinger and Frontman, wich made Queen unique because of Freddie's way of performing and magic connection with the crowd. Freddie's wish was, You can do with my music what you want, but Never Make It Boring, I think he was not only talking about the music, but also about himself. I think that losing Freddie, had much more impact on Brian, Roger and John. John retierd afther they finished Made In Heaven think 1995, but however he don't play anymore, he is still involved with the financial side of all that has to do with Queen. I don't know what happened between the 3 of them, but John and Freddie were very close, Freddie sold clothes and all kind of things with Roger before they became famous, and Freddie and Brian wrote most of the music in the beginning years , later on Roger and John started writing. Freddie helped John with Another One Bites The Dust, and Freddie gave it all on stage to make it a success, and it is still the best selling record Worldwide. I think this is about the last tour for Roger and Brian, considering there age, and Roger having trouble hearing. Maybe they just wanted to go back, on memory lane, but brought Freddie and John with them, and Adam leave the stage when Roger sings These Are The Days, and is off stage then, and you see in the big Q, all film of Queen as it was. Adam has his own style and hasn't changed it, playing with Brian, Roger, and Spike and the others, that I can highley respect, he yell during the show Freddie;s voice, more than once, but he does things his own way. On Facebook there is so much hate against Adam, witch is not fair, he does not imitate Freddie so why the hate, he just sing the songs his own way, and I think, very honest, Freddie is looking with a big smile, becouse the music reach a new generation, and will live on, long afther we are gone. Freddie will always be my no.1, and what is wrong with keeping the music alive, I don't see no harm in that, and think Frreddie is having a ball upthere. Please Margo, think about it, and I apoligise for the long answer. Bedtime also, it's 5 am, but please think about it, I will read it tomorrow xxx
+Geke Hop-Wassink Oops! I'm one of the angry ones, I suppose. I prefer the original band. When Freddie died, there was no more Queen as far as I am concerned. The remaining members should have bowed out gracefully and called it quits. They don't need the money. John Deacon got out. A class act, indeed. What is going on now is very disrespectful to Freddie and the band as a whole. I stand by my comments. P. S. With all his money, why can't Brian May get a decent haircut? A disgrace.
+Margo Farrar I happy to accept your cyber handshake Margo. Freddie is my Hero, but I'm not blind, and accept him the way he was, and if you now see how Brian and Roger shine on stage, with this tour with Adam, I have a lot of Respect for this. Roger, with next to him, his son Rufus, you can see Roger is proud. They moved on, and doing this tour with Adam, but also they took Freddie and John, as you can see in this recording, and Adam leave the stage when they do certain songs, so he show's his respect for Freddie, and does it with grace, so don't understand why a lot of fans are angry, I can't see a reason to xxx
+Geke Hop-Wassink Please accept my Cyber handshake. Some people really forget that aspect of his life. The world was his oyster, so to speak. Different countries, cultures; he had it all and could pick and choose. Next, the party was over as we know.
I agree, Freddie can't be replaced, is not replaced, but by social media, they split up the fans. I, and my group, refuse to take a side, I see 50% of Queen, bringing the songs, with a singer to a younger audiance. Nobody will ever forget who brought these song to life. They have put tribute in the show to Freddie, I think it's okay!!!! And Freddie is, was and will ever be MY hero xxx
