+paess87 Hmmm... It has to be something with your settings depending on your charting platform. Most of this should be standard on most websites, or charting software.
What is the best chart to look at when it comes to a timeline? I notice
that if you use a 1 year chart and if the MACD is over the ZERO line that
may not be the case with using a 3 day chart, where the MACD line is under
the ZERO.
+Eric Muathe in the last example, there is macd trendline break on up side on right side of the chart.. at the extreme right if the macd crosses over to the down side should we go short? considering such a long uptrend.
+Dan Delux Thanks. On the daily, I would say one year daily is good enough. If you use a good charting service then say a one year daily or a three day daily should still give you the same MACD / RSI values/results.
Eric - just discovered your videos so a bit late on this. But are you using
the default parameters with this (12,26,9) or does a shorter MACD time line
also apply here?
+Mike Hatem Thanks Mike. I actually use two MACD's in my analysis. One is the default of 12,26,9 (even though I think it should be 13, 21, 8 from the Fibonacci series) and I also use 5,8,3 as the secondary MACD. Here is a brief video with all my settings; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyY4knlrhT8
Dear Eric,
In one of videos about MACD , you explained that when the MACD goes above
the 3-5 year monthly or weekly for the first time , then one should get
into it.(Extremely Bullish)
In this video ,do you mean to say that once this happens and then if there
is crossover above the previous previous MACD trendline (then it is good
time short - is this what you mean ?)
If this is what you mean then, i have seen stocks whose MACD is above for
the first time in 3 years in weekly, then a cross over happened and after
few days and then MACD signal line crossed again.....so should i be
covering my shorts and get back into the stock when this happens ?
I tried my best to explain my doubt, it might not be clear.
But your videos are very detailed , specific and i have never seen anyone
who is able to explain in such way.
Thank you
+Sudheer Gautam Hi Sudheer, Thanks! I do discuss the MACD at new monthly (or weekly) highs or three year highs on the monthly MACD as a good time to consider this a strong bullish signal (especially if the monthly RSI is doing the same, or at least the monthly RSI is above 69.1).Keep in mind that even though this works on weekly charts or any time frame the best buy signal I know of is based on monthly charts so that is where the strongest big picture comes from: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjHhEQ5LDpkYjxsTqzOiqnF6CThsfp5m5Generally, bullish crossovers above zero are more reliable than crossovers below zero. The crossover discussed in this video are mainly in relationship to the MACD ZERO LINE.Conversely, bearish crossovers above zero are not as reliable as crossovers below the ZERO MACD LINE if you are looking for a sell signal. Otherwise, I am not entirely sure I understood your question :(
+Allen Hafford It seems to work in FOREX for me. I am trading in the simulator at FOREX.com. I do highly recommend a simulator for testing in order to see if you like it before using your hard-earned money. Good luck and God bless!
+Allen Hafford I haven't tested it on currency pairs but I would suspect it should because technical analysis generally seems to capture human emotional response to stimuli and such the patterns tend to repeat.
Hi Eric sir, Good evening(Indian time).
I was just working for writing a program to identify MACD cross overs based
on your teachings.
while writing program, i drew horizontal lines at PRICE at which bullish /
bearish MACD cross over took place.Amazingly these lines not only acted as
support/ resistance buy also provided great entry.both lines came closer at
the end of a move and start separating apart when a new move come.
Still i am trying to back test it on many stocks...
Just for your information , i shared it.

Pakistan is far superior than India. Pakistan is more prosperous than
India. Do not be brainwashed by Bollywood. India is not Bollywood and
America is not Hollywood. Stop your false-perceptions!
+xtremeownage2 if you want to believe so then it's ok , can't argue with some one like you , it's better to accept ones weakness and work rather living in false hope , India has its own issues but the fact that we have own problems so we are ready to face it
+thomas josephStupid fake Indian trolls. Indians are better at making propaganda and that's about it. The living standards of Pakistan are superior than slumdog India. Also, Pakistan is far superior. This is fact.
+xtremeownage2 you must be drunk ,pakistan is far superior than india that is the biggest joke of the century .we all should love their own country but lets not live on false hope ,development of pakistan is good for india ,we need a stable and strong pakistan ,but to say pakistan is superior than india is something even average pakistani won't able to digest it
Pakis are doormats..They will do whatever you say as long as you give them

"Shameless Indians can't fight themselves that's why they rely on foreign
mercenary gorkha army"
Ha, ha.
Low Pakistani I.Q on display here.
Gorkhas could be Nepalese as well as Indians.
To educate you further, here is what Wikipedia has to say about the Gurkha
Army:
(Since the independence of India in 1947, as per the terms of the
Britain–India–Nepal Tripartite Agreement, six Gorkha regiments, formerly
part of the British Indian Army, became part of the Indian Army and have
served ever since. The troops are Gorkhas, residents of Nepal and ethnic
Gorkha(Nepali) citizens of India. They have a history of courage in battle,
evident from the gallantry awards won by Gorkha soldiers and battle honours
awarded to Gorkha both before and after joining the Indian Army. A seventh
Gorkha Rifles regiment was re-raised in the Indian Army after Independence
to accommodate Gorkha soldiers of 7th Gurkha Rifles and the 10th Gurkha
Rifles who refused to transfer to the British Army.)
