+Lauren Cala ......... yes u r rite. the positive trendelenburg gait means downward tilt of the pelvis on the UNaffected side. For example: if a person standing on right leg droops his pelvis,it is right trendelenburg sign positive.because the ipsilateral hip muscles were not able to prevent the contralateral side(left side) from drooping.
I have a question I was born with dislocated hips in my 30s my right one in
my back hurts and catches when I walk and if I turn to stretch because I
feel pain pops and I fell better even if someone picks me up to hug me it
pops on the back and feels good again. But x rays show nothing because i m
laying down it hurts when I'm standing but they won't x ray me standing..I
hear the same click in my back if I turn then feel relief . I walk
everywhere and I'm in pain..how do I get proof I think its pinching or
rubbing or why does it pop and feel better? Thanks it s only on the right
side
+chesseesmile Hi. I have one hip which I used to call double jointed. When young I would stand with my right hip out, then it would pop suddenly further. But it started going downhill when in my late 30's, now 53 is suddenly quite worse. I always walked for exercise but now cannot, as after 50 steps, the joint pressures out to an uncomfortable place, leg starts to twist out, knee starts to pop.... :( Am about to get diagnosed and medical help...... but in meantime what I ALWAYS do to maintain it, are cat type stretches, as soon as I roll out of bed, and anytime I feel the need. I'll also perch on counter's edge on straight arms to lift my feet off ground, so weight of lower body stretches out the kinks in my lower back, relieving compressed nerves to my legs. I am often rubbing and pushing my femur head back to it's location, be I walking or laying down. It all helps. Long term thougn, :( just don't know what's next. Hope this helps you a bit. Any ideas for me :) (never force a move or stretch, gentle only, if it feels good, go for it... if it hurts, don't do it!)
