You are missing a lot of steps on how to replace the clutch, and plenty of
details about basket condition, the arm spring that goes on the inside,
etc. If it is not so hard, then lets see another one putting everything
together and make it work.
Yeah, its cake, nothing compared to cars where one has to remove axles,
loosen engine mounts, exhaust, etc. 15 years of age!? Your voice sounds of
having a few more years. Thank you for posting the video, currently working
on mine.
FYI, the OEM book tells you to: "Install the out-side clutch disc tabs into
the shallow slots in the clutch outer". Basically, the outermost friction
plate tabs don't go in the same (deep) slot which all the other ones sit
in.
hi guys can you tell me if there bercion Colombia Spanish I is Spanish and
I need to know ablo can tell me if there bercion porfa in Spanish in this
video i can not I do not understand
is your clutch slipping or are you just being preventative? Do you bother
carrying a tire change kit when you ride? (irons, pump, spare tubes, ect)
Just curious.
+Vermont Dualsport No my clutch is good it's just riding heavy off road the stock clutches will get hot and fade I bit. I just wanted to put in a heavy duty clutch. I do not carry a spare tube and tools but I have fixing to get the stuff for when I take a bigger trip. Most of my rides I'm not to far from home and one of us could go get the truck or tools.
I have the same issue. Freezing cold in the morning and stinking hot on the
ride home. I found a good mesh jacket with a removable rain liner is best.
The rain liner blocks all the wind and keeps me warm in the morning, and
pulling it out keeps me cool on the ride home.
You should do another video of your clutch replacement. I followed your
video on spoke adjustment, after the dealer told me they don't look at
spokes because the bike doesn't have enough weight to ruin a rim. They are
awesome otherwise, but I found it a bit silly they don't even check your
spokes during the regular warranty maintenance.
I hope you document all the process of changing the clutch with a nice
video and lots of close up's. it will be very interesting and entertaining,
the clutch upgrade is one famous mod for this bike apparently, it will be
also interesting to hear your thoughts of it and how it performs.
+sixwashington4 I'm changing the clutch because the stock one fades when I ride hard in the woods and it needs stiffer springs. Plus while I got it taken apart I may as well change the clutch plates. Yes I did take off the FMF slip on. Nothing working with it al all. The main reason was because when my wife rides with me it melts the heal of her boots. Also I do like the quietness if the stock better.
Great video, that tar is no match when you've got Maxima bio clean. So your
replacing clutch because the original one is wore out, or your doing it for
performance upgrade?
Is the clutch not disengaging a sign of worn pads? For example I put it in
neutral and hold the clutch in and it will not roll, just like the clutch
is not being applied
Yes, that happened on my rmx 250 95 i ordered the tusk clutch kit . i recommended using the springs. when i put the tusk clutch kit it let me roll my bike while i hold my clutch in.
Hey man I'm going to be getting my new bike soon, would love to go ride
with you and Jake. Live in the neighbor in front of jakes lol. I know some
sweet spots down in a creek bed man be awesome to ride in.
