+tnargtnarud its besides the point because the intention was not to add Abba's music to a plot but turn the songs themselves into a story. "if it wasn't for abba's music the movie would have been completely horrible" is not the case because if it wasn't for abba's music, the movie would have been different.

If not, what was the point of creating Mama Mia?My point is the story could have been written better, or the movie should have been directed better. Some of the songs seemed very out of place, or just poorly directed.

+tnargtnarud thats besides the point. they took abbas songs and made a story out of it so the songs are the focus. it wasn't a storyline and they add music afterwards, it was just a bunch of songs and they made a story out of it. They didn't make songs to match the mood of the plot, they took the mood of the songs and incorporated it into the narrative
