one of my AC it's just louder than another AC, I think it's the compressor
and it's almost 10 years old, normal to have a louder compressor when it's
that old? air still cold
my redtop started making a funny intermittent noise which I could hear while idling. Got out of car and had a proper listen, didn't think much of it but checked ...
It was actually nothing to do with that! One of the bearings in the air
conditioning compressor let go. Pulled the belt off and it no longer makes
the noise. Interestingly there was no difference in noise whether i had the
air conditioning turned on or off.
sounds exactly like my engine. For me it was the guide above the timing
chain that broke off and was just sitting on the chain rattling i replaced
the tensioner but i think the guide broke again :/ how did you fix this?
Started out where the car would rattle LOUDLY every once in awhile. No check engine light. We've always had a loud exhaust but not as loud as it is. We've ...
This thing sounds like a loud sewing machine. It never used to sound like this until I got it back from a shop that installed some (non-motor related) parts on it.
Same sound coming from my 2011 V6 mustang. When I cold start the car, no
sound, but after I drive it for a bit, its loud. But strangely, its only
really audible when the car is in drive. It quietens when I put it in
park. Dealership says its the water pump (for which they want 800 bucks to
replace it), but my trustworthy mechanic father thinks its the lifer or
else something coming from inside where the lifters are. I strongly suspect
this is an intentional plot carried out by Ford to yank all our chains at
the dealership charging us tons of money for unnecessary repairs playing a
guessing game trying to get rid of this mystery tap. Jerks.
have you ever considered that this is normal sound on this engine? mine
also sounds like this. at first this bothered me. but after watching other
videos of other 5.0s i have determined that it's common. now, i'm not
saying that this is not a problem. but i have since accepted it. if
anything, the car is still under warranty and i have not experienced any
mechanical problems to hinder performance. i just don't plan to modify the
engine in the event that it does break down, i got the warranty
Car came in with loud rattle coming from head area! The vvti gear was making noise at for about a minute to five then quite down. The lack of pressure control ...
right on the back of the engine. you can reach it pretty easily. above the
intake manifold about a half inch under the valve cover gasket. on the left
of you're looking at the engine
The pipe that connects to the exhaust manifold (I call it a y-pipe) is
double layered. It has an inner and an outer layer. Over time the inner
layer and outer layer start to become unattached from each other, causing
it to rattle around inside of itself under certain pressure. Fixes are
either buying a new y-pipe (expensive part), buying an aftermarket header
and downpipe or what I did, was drill a couple of small pilot holes in each
pipe and drill in some large self tapping bolts. This secures the inner
and outer layers of the pipe so they cant rattle into each other. I also
put jb weld under the head of the bolt so the vibration wouldn't back it
out. This fixed my issue completely.
Hey I have this same exact problem with my 99 ls, did you ever find out
why? I checked all the heat shields and the whole exhaust and I couldn't
find anything !
Watch my recently uploaded video "Integra GSR Exhaust Rattle - Video
Explanation." Your rattle is most likely coming from the A-pipe and it's an
easy fix.
I get the same problem on my 1998 TypeR. Have you find the problem and how
do you fix it ?
What would make this rattling noise?
The noise is definitely coming from underneath the car and rear the center and probably close to where the front wheels are. I can only hear it when the car is ...
