thanks for your comments, at least I know my car isn't the only one with a problem. I bought mine in Mexico, and so far, this is not considered a fault here yet. They've made me send countless forms and pictures, videos in order for the warranty to kick in; and they still haven't given me a response. this is so frustrating and also disappointing.

Guys, just this weekend the blower was replaced on my car. it turned out some tree leafs made their way in there and were causing the noise. have your nearest dealership disassemble the part first before they order a new one. Had to wait another 30 days till the part was shipped directly from Germany.

Just had the same problem and the BMW Dealer cleaned the leaves out of the heater and replaced the heater air intake grille with a modified one and it appears to have cured the fault. Time will tell
