I hope to offer these for sale, so all you have to do is mount them in a good location. There is more discussion on the Mini-Z forum, though this solution will not be limited to Mini-Z's. I added a link to the discussion thread on the forum that has more info to the description of this video.

OK, so the title of this "How-to" is misleading. It's not a "lap counter" - i.e., it's not telling me "how many laps" you're running. It's "videotaping my laps, importing the video into a movie-making program, and telling my what my lap time is". Sorry, but this is not only a misleading title, but, disappointing as well.

i have been tryin to build joysticks to timers with light sensors, allot of wires and soldering and ....., dam you idea is the best , just place your camcorder en rec. YOU ARE SMART. thank you for the idiea.

I ws thinking about getting one of these lap timers but I can't find any reviws I wss going to put it on my mini inferno how or what is the range with out the 50ft lazer any help would be appreciated

Hi Shawn, we use the same lap-counting system in our local club with generic IC tags. Please share your experience with this lap counter since we are having troubles with missed laps.
