hey man, you know you cant get 18ss spares anymore. The company that makes the engine went out of buisness (HPI, does not manufacture the 18ss engine) I really struggled with HPI to acquire spares! just to let you know, great little engine tho

Let's see... besides keeping the entire car and engine really clean, I got titanium turnbuckles, inline fuel filter, aluminum tuned pipe, titanium flywheel and main gear, alum. knuckles and axles, all running on hard compound street tires.

On the road, I'm using the Pro-Line Road Rage 1/10 Street Tires (with threaded shocks stiffened up in front and rear). Great grip on hard ground but nothing on grass or dirt. I use the stock dirt tires for everything non-street.

It was a fun first build. I had to replace the pull start once after a year of use. It's nice not to need a starter box. Speed is good for single-speed, but I'm looking to throw in a 2-speed since I use it mainly on-road.

my fault, I was confused. i'm using the Pro-Line Impact Firm foam inserts with HPI V-Groove M Compound tires on the MT2. i have the Road Rage Buggy street tires on my Losi 8ght.

Kit or RTR? The kit comes with optional upgrades. I have some aluminum hop-ups (aluminum suspension arms and shock towers, threaded shocks, roll cage) that made it more rugged.

ha i got one of these. mt2 18ss. runnning street tires too. have had it for a year and a half and still runnin same 18ss engine, no rebuild. biggest enemy = curbs.

What are you talking about man? I was talking about the rim size being 2.2 and what 18 sized engine out there has more then 2.2 hp?

That sounds like more then just the stock hpi engine man what is it the os tz? thats what I put in mine and it flys like mad

Why is the 18SS engine better than the G3.0 engine on the rtr mt2 because they have the same displacement and components???

@famousbrad Stock from the 18SS kit. I think it was a 15t clutchbell and 54(?) main. I can't remember the exact count...

It is the stock HPI MT2 18SS engine. Maybe you're hearing the massive echo... but thanks for the compliments.

I don't know which is better. I've never ran either of those cars so I can't tell you from experience.

The wheels are by HPI but I can't remember where I found them, they are 1/8th scale though and I use 17mm Traxxas adapters to fit them on the Rustler. @jojji22 its hard to choose may be the 4 tec because it seems to be faster bottom and top end , but the cen is fast to and has better handling then the 4tec all round.im gonna put my picco 21 race engine in the cen and if that works ill have a answer for you soon lol,what you have to remember is the cen has a 5.0 engine in it which i think is not good for the car revs up to slow but the 3.3 in the 4 tec revs up quick giving better take off , i can go on all day mate to much info lol

@jojji22 some halford stores sell them and it dont cost that much.It did make a diffence which is noticable if you watch some of my later video on this rc,not sure if its good for engine but who cares its more fun experimenting trying to get the best performance out of these cars lol

@JbDappa :D Man I already have Nitro 4 Tec and I love it. The acceleration is just awesome. And I wanted to buy CEN CTR 5.0 as the top speed is quite tempting.
