I remember this, that rotating supercell storm was one of the worst i've
ever seen, very unusual for that time of year, and it followed the coldest
winters i've ever seen in Phoenix. There was another supercell that I

+John Smith Actually, September and October are the most common months in AZ for supercell storms. Usually between the fall and the monsoon season, we see what's called a "transitional event" in which severe storms can develop very similarly to those in the plains! This last September we had one- though it wasn't as dramatic. I LOVE them!
