I'd like to know what breed dachshunds were crossed with to come up with
the miniature longhair dachshund. I have heard it was the Papillion, an
intelligent and friendly breed of dog.

We just spent $5K fixing our mini dachshund's back. Better have your dog's
back in the T12-T13 junction checked out. I can almost promise you with all
of the standing your dog has done there will be calcifications on the
x-rays, which is the precursor to the back blowing out.

It's really cute. But watch out her spine. My weaner dog Muffin has
Osteophytes... Her doctor said it's very common with weaner dogs, so try to
avoid stairs and this kind of trick. It would hurt their spine when they
grow old.
