I'd never actually heard of the term "helicopter parent" before - I had to
look it up. You're right though - if you approach talking to the parent in
the right way then it will be better for them and the student involved.
When you say that they're "present", you mean they want to know what their
kid is doing all the time, or you mean actually being in the classroom all
the time?
+Charlie no Seikatsu That sucks, the being present part; it completely changes the dynamics in class; neither you nor the kids behave as usual, there's this tension in the room. It is forbidden in my country, though, maybe that's something Japan should implement.
+Michel Garcia I mean both, I think. There are some parents who really want to know what their kids are up to at all times, which I don't mind so much. There are some, though, who are physically present far too often. Not the best situation
