Yeah, back in the early 1980's, at my house in Palestine, Tx. we was doing some yard maintenance, and My Mom & Dad came by and we was all out there in the yard and my Mom set down (Indian style) in the yard with my wife at a flower bed....well, in a minute or two a Coral snake Popped Up in between my Sweet Mama's legs and She couldn't Get Away Quick enough (She was scared to death of snakes anyway). But, It was a Wonder that she Didn't get Bite. After it was Over We All Had a Big Laugh over that. ha-ha. Over here in the National Park We have a lot of Rattler's....I mean A LOT!

i gather these snakes aren't poisonous or dangerous? the ones you casually pick up?
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-VY2JvjefcIQ/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAQ8/yJJntYG2oqA/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Steve Kaposi's Adventures in Thailand - exactly. We never handle venomous snakes unless it's with a hook to get them off the road to avoid being hit by a vehicle.
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-3bl_iNJ2UDQ/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAHk/xmba8bIbSaQ/photo.jpg?sz=64
+smetlogik I'm here in Colorado. Yeah I would love to flip one. I haven't found any though
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-3bl_iNJ2UDQ/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAHk/xmba8bIbSaQ/photo.jpg?sz=64

Yea I have but we sadly didn't have the time this summer. I have talked with Hunter or Coloradosnakehunter on Instagram and he was the one who introduced it. i have talked with my dad about going to the Chatfield field next summer and I'm super excited to meet everyone! Thanks for your help!
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-VY2JvjefcIQ/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAQ8/yJJntYG2oqA/photo.jpg?sz=64
+RCreptile12 - if you're here in CO, I'd recommend checking out COPARC on facebook or just google COPARC Colorado. Some good info and people. They have field trips here in CO.

+smetlogik Yeah I agree. Last time we went my mom had fun but I'm sure my dad will also love it there too. There's a "secret" tin sight there that I'm hoping to find. I know people that have found some shawnee king snakes there.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-VY2JvjefcIQ/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAQ8/yJJntYG2oqA/photo.jpg?sz=64
+loopy toopy - i'm sure you'll see a lot of snakes. your parents should enjoy it there, it's actually a great area even if you're not into snakes.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8imK6JLPVi0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAC84/0s0RuDSLekA/photo.jpg?sz=64
+smetlogik Yeah, I'm going with my mom and dad but I don't really have a friend that goes herping also. either way, it should be awesome. I really wanna find a timber or a hognose. Those are my min goals.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-VY2JvjefcIQ/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAQ8/yJJntYG2oqA/photo.jpg?sz=64
+loopy toopy - Great place, been there a few times. Looks like some rain Fri and sunny when you're there, perfect. Have some friends who've found cool stuff the past few weeks so you should do well.

+Sharing The Outdoors - you already know this, but any afternoon outdoors is a good one. Always cool to flip a few snakes too though.
