I'm going to check out Clark. Thanks for the info. I agree with your points
on Dave Ramsey. I do have to point out though that a debt snowball method
can, in some cases, be a quicker method than the avalanche method (highest
interest rate first). There is a website you should check out: www.undebt.it
where you plug in your debt information and how much you want to put
towards your debt each month and it will tell you when you will be out of
debt using both methods, and even breaking down monthly principal and
interest amounts. For me, I was surprised to find out that the snowball
method was actually quicker. I think it depends on the length of loans and
minimum payment amounts, not just interest rate.
+Lindsay Ashton Thank you for the information. There are so many mobile apps and websites these days in regards to reducing debt. Never heard of undebt.it thanks for mentioning it. Clark Howard fit's more in line of my thinking and provides so much more information. I think you can get much more in depth knowledge with Clark.
Dave Ramsey reaches out to people who can't control their spending. A good
example, "cut up your credit cards." I think a better way is to teach
self-control.
+jvolstad I agree with your statement Self control is the ultimate solution. If you just replace credit with debit card you will just overdraft your card and rack up additional charges.
